Research On The Narrative Of Divine Medicine

The legend of Miracle-working Doctor is an important channel to convey the voice of people's life which narrates around doctors,patients and diseases.The folk legend focuses on such realistic topics as life and death,good and evil,poverty and richness in people's daily life.It is an effort to respond to the tragic experience of others.This research can clarify people's cognition of life normality and public health events such as birth,death,illness and old age.It also can help people get an overall understanding of the various doctors' occupational circumstances,then reduces the burden of the current social medical treatment and help it going out of predicament.Based on the“Anthology of Chinese Folkloric Stories”,this paper collects more than 600 texts related to the Miracle-working Doctor.Besides,collecting more than 100 stories about pharmaceuticals,works out analysis and discussion about the narration from the legend type,the motif and the narrative characteristics.This paper includes the introduction,conclusion and main text.In the introduction,this paper discusses the choice of topics and the research range,scope and method of the legend.Through combing the theme and types in the first two chapters,the legend can be concluded to seven themes and twenty-seven types.On the basis of classification,the paper analyzes and explains the connotation of legends.The third chapter elucidates the oral literature characteristics,ethnic characteristics and folk culture connotation.It also analyzes the rescue function of oral literature and the value of the oral historical materials.Utilization of the theory about Narrative Medicine,this chapter also analyzes the medical elements in the legend,including the medical training practice,the doctorpatient relationship and the common predisposing cause in Chinese traditional society.Furthermore,this part discusses the medical ethics,a life philosophy and the causal thinking containing in the legend.The fourth chapter investigates the value of medicine and practical significance of the legend.It focuses on the inspiration from measures which reacting on dealing with public health emergencies.In conclusion,the author discusses the study of the narration,we should pay attention to excavate its cultural connotation and present-day values,which provides enlightenment for the construction of Chinese medical and related culture.
