In today's fast-growing society with abundant material wealth,on the one hand,people's material needs have been met to a greater extent than in the past,on the other hand,spiritual difficulties and confusion are becoming increasingly apparent,which has become a strong obstacle to a happy life.More and more people choose the life style of materialism,consumerism,hedonism and individualism,showing a strong irrational desire for property,status,fame,wealth,results,control and so on.Narcissism,loneliness,lack of thinking,incompetence and other phenomena are more serious.Erich Fromm,a famous western humanist philosopher and psychoanalytic psychologist,has devoted all his life to questioning and thinking about various practical problems,contradictions and crises of human existence,and to exploring the key to human happiness.Starting from paying attention to the special living conditions of modern people,he combined Freud's psychoanalysis theory with Marx's humanism theory,made a more comprehensive analysis of alienated people,revealed the loss of human personality and value,and put forward the theory of psychological revolution to save human beings and the social reform measures to establish a sound society.It provides a unique way to understand one's own psychology and behavior.Fromm's philosophy of life,as an important part of his whole theoretical system,is the product of his long-term efforts to observe people and society in the capitalist society at that time.It is of great significance to our contemporary youth's anxiety and loss in dealing with real life.The first chapter of this paper mainly expounds the formation background of Fromm's philosophy of life,including his unique life experience and the era background and theoretical origin of the formation of his philosophy of life.The second chapter focuses on Fromm's thought of existence.Fromm believes that human existence is faced with the antinomy of existence and history.There are five kinds of needs: relatedness,transcendence,rootedness,sense of identity,the need for a frame of orientation and devotion,people should abandon the mode of having and choose the mode of being.The third chapter mainly discusses Fromm's creative outlook on life.Fromm thinks that love is the only correct answer to the problem of human existence,and its essence lies in giving.In the view of freedom,he thinks that people pursue freedom and escape freedom,the realization of positive freedom lies in the spontaneous activities of comprehensive and complete personality.In the view of happiness,he thinks that happiness is a lasting emotional state arising from the creative exertion of one's ability.In the view of life and death,he thinks that life should not be regarded as a kind of property.In the view of family,he thinks that we should build up the image of parents in our hearts and eventually become our own parents.In the view of belief,he puts forward that rational belief is an internal value orientation,emphasizing the winning and firm characteristics of belief.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the significance and enlightenment of Fromm's philosophy of life,discusses its connection with Laozi's philosophy,compares its similarities and differences with Chinese traditional culture,explores its theoretical achievements and shortcomings,makes a dialectical value analysis of it,thinks that its consistent way is to give full play to creativity,the most fundamental methodology is to creatively use all kinds of human power,and combined with the living situation of contemporary youth in China,discusses the enlightenment of Fromm's philosophy of life on the values,love and happiness of contemporary youth.
