As a great calligrapher in the late Tang Dynasty,Liu Gongquan's calligraphic art has gone through the ages with strict rules and standard characters.Later generations called Liu Gongquan's calligraphy "Liuti".Liuti calligraphy has been influential since its birth.The artistic value and practical achievements of Liuti characters are also unique in the history of calligraphy.Liu style calligraphy has an important position in the history of calligraphy.The main point of this paper is to analyze the historical function of Liu Gongquan's calligraphy.Liu Gongquan inherited many calligraphers,but inherited the face style in the structure of square shape and the beginning and ending of pen.At the same time,through innovation,it shows the unique writing method of self adduction and external extension,strong bone strength.It is a perfect period for the art of regular script in Tang Dynasty.By sorting out the history of the Tang Dynasty and the evaluation of later generations,it is concluded that Liu Gongquan was quite famous at that time.The viewpoint of "regular heart and upright writing" also had a profound impact on the theory and practice of later calligraphers,making them aware of the important relationship between character and quality.Liu Gongquan's calligraphy is still full of vitality today,which is inseparable from the reason that it is suitable for beginners.Liu style takes the advantages of many schools and lays a good foundation for learning other calligraphy styles.Finally,it puts forward the new thinking of how to better "make the past serve the present" so that the core of Liuti can be integrated into the contemporary hard pen calligraphy.Better play the artistic value and use value of willow style.
