This article starts the study of Francis Bacon's paintings from the perspective of space and time, and tentatively discusses the relationship between sensation this important element of Bacon's painting and space and time.Francis Bacon is one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. His painting style is unique, obscure, and inexplicable.Bacon's paintings originate in the post-war reflection on human civilization. He re-examined painting from his own unique perspective, resisted the "siege" of conventional images, and created the "third way" of painting.Bacon"traveled" through various periods of art history and wandered extensively in the literature, philosophy, film, music, etc.,which built him a broad vision.Through his own exploration,he pushed his painting to a new height.Since Bacon was a well-known painting artist during his lifetime, the research enthusiasm has not diminished after his death, which fully demonstrates the profoundness of Bacon's art. From Russell to Deleuze to Martin Hammer, the focus on Bacon has overflowed the field of art and has become an approach from philosophy to art.Why do Bacon's paintings have such a huge impact? This article attempts to answer the question from two basic dimensions:space and time. The first chapter focuses on how Bacon's previous paintings express space and time, clarifies the concept of space and time, analyzes the space and time in classical and modern paintings, and reveals the inevitable factors of the features of time and space in Bacon's paintings. The second chapter focuses on how Bacon expresses space and time in his paintings, examines the time and space features in Bacon's paintings and their expression methods, and clarifies Bacon's contribution to painting. The third chapter focuses on the enlightenment of Bacon's paintings on contemporary Chinese painting, tentatively discusses the potential connection between lingering "ghost" of "visualizing" in painting and the ubiquitous dotted image of time in the contemporary context of highly advanced technology, and explores the practical application in personal painting creation. The conclusion is not general, but the rich connotation that Bacon's painting encompasses many possibilities.
