As the founder of the field of existentialist philosophy in the 20 th century,Kierkegaard has made great contributions to the research of existentialism. The question of religious faith is the core of his writings, which refutes the people's understanding of faith at that time, criticizes the priests who preach in the name of Christians without understanding what is true faith, and demonstrates what faith is.The object of faith is God,and the faith in God requires us to feel the objective uncertain God with our subjective mind and establish contact with God.In this process, the objective uncertainty has a considerable risk for the believer.Only those who are not defeated by fear and doubt can reach the height of faith. The supreme state of faith is to believe in things that cannot be proved or even contradicted by reason.Christian faith demands radically obedience to God and the surrender of oneself to God to make the belief absurd.Faith gives man as independent individual have the courage to face despair and absurdity, thus to establish an absolute connection with God,all of which are completed in an instant. This moment is the "leap" that Kierkegaard proposes. The religious life was for Kierkegaard the highest and best way of life,a way of life that was not a concrete practical action, but an inner activity in the spiritual field.Only by detaching oneself from concrete arguments and becoming spirit can faith in God berealised.
