Procrastination is very common among college students,which affects students' learning enthusiasm and efficiency seriously.The source text of this English-Chinese translation practice report is the Chapter 2 of The Psychology of Effective Studying:How to Succeed in Your Degree,written by British psychologist Paul Penn(2020).This chapter provides a psychological analysis of the causes of procrastination in college students and explains the nature of procrastination and the way of conquering it.This is an informative text which contains a large amount of experimental data.The word order of Chinese language is one of the key points in translation.In addition,textual cohesion is also a difficult point in translation.Therefore,the case analysis mainly discusses the adjustment of word order and textual cohesion.The author mainly analyzes the adjustment of word order from five aspects,such as adverbials,parenthesis,etc.From the perspective of textual cohesion,the author discusses how to correctly use anaphora and cohesion words to enhance the coherence of translation.It is hoped that the translation of this text can provide some references for future translation of relevant texts.
