| From the beginning of the Opium War,the Qing government was forced to open the door,and Chinese and Western cultures entered a period of conflict and integration.The revolution of 1911 overthrew the feudal dynasty and established the republican system,which lasted for 38 years.This period is an important link in the development history of Chinese calligraphy.It has the function of carrying forward the past and opening up the future.It is the continuation of the history of ancient Chinese calligraphy,but it has rich innovation.The research value of calligraphy in the period of the Republic of China is very great.During the period of the Republic of China,the society was in turmoil,and there were great changes in politics,economy,culture and other aspects.On the contrary,such social changes brought about a situation of "a hundred flowers blooming and a hundred schools of thought contending" in the field of literature and art,and many great figures appeared,such as Wu Changshuo,Zhang Taiyan,Ma Yifu,Lu Xun,Cai Yuanpei,Chen Duxiu,Hu Shi and so on.Born in the late Qing Dynasty,they received the traditional imperial examination education,but also broadened their horizons and awakened their thoughts due to the social change.Under the influence of this inclusive new cultural pattern,the calligraphy art of the Republic of China opened up a new realm and changed a lot.Mao Zedong called Lu Xun a great litterateur,thinker and revolutionist.There are many titles for Lu Xun in academic circles,such as writer,translator,writer and so on.However,his calligraphy attainments are not covered up under the literary fame.Lu Xun was a typical representative of literati calligraphers in the Republic of China.Although he did not respect his calligraphy and did not have any special calligraphy articles,he left a large number of calligraphy traces with an objective artistic height.He collected more than 9000 kinds of inscriptions on oracle bones,inscriptions on gold,Qin and Han Dynasties and Wei and Six Dynasties,and compiled and copied more than 1800 inscriptions,He has made great efforts,which are rare even for professional calligraphers,and calligraphy activities run through his life.This paper takes Lu Xun as an example to explore the calligraphy world of the literati in the Republic of China.The full text is divided into four chapters,the first chapter points out the purpose of this study,research review and research methods.The second chapter leads to the social background of the late Qing Dynasty and the calligraphy trend at that time,from Lu Xun’s family origin to Lu Xun’s learning and teaching experience in Sanwei bookstore,briefly describes Lu Xun’s learning process in his youth;the third chapter discusses Lu Xun’s life and calligraphy in the period of the Republic of China,and the first section introduces the social background of the period of the Republic of China and the calligraphy art activities at that time Calligraphy exhibition,calligraphy association and calligraphy cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.The second section describes Lu Xun’s activities of copying steles.The third section analyzes and summarizes Lu Xun’s calligraphy collection.The fourth section analyzes Lu Xun’s calligraphy in detail from five aspects: diary,letter,manuscript,transcription and book binding.The fourth chapter mainly talks about Lu Xun’s friendship with the literati calligraphy circle in the period of the Republic of China,and analyzes and compares them The fifth chapter expounds the connotation of the literati calligraphy in the Republic of China.After breaking away from the imperial examination system,the literati calligraphy takes the book as the music and the book as the use.Under the background of the integration of inscriptions and calligraphy in the late Qing Dynasty,it develops in diversity and has a strong calligraphic atmosphere.Then it makes a brief evaluation of Lu Xun’s calligraphy and appreciates its calligraphy style.Through Lu Xun,the representative of literati in the period of the Republic of China,as a breakthrough point,we can get a glimpse of the whole picture of literati calligraphy in the period of the Republic of China. |
