Hearing impairment is a kind of functional disorder characterized by the inability to receive sound signals, commonly known as deafness.According to national statistics, there are 20,000 to 30,000 deaf children born in China every year, and the probability of hearing disability among children aged 0 to 14 is 1.7‰.Cochlear implants have opened the door to sound for children with hearing disabilities. Many children get "new sound" through the surgery, but some children still miss the best treatment time due to parents' neglect or lack of understanding of the technology, eventually become deaf and dumb. However, the whole society still lacks of understanding of both the deaf-mutes and the disabled who have recovered hearing and language.Deaf-mutes are often discriminated against and misunderstood.Children who have had cochlear implants to restore their hearing are sometimes disliked because they wear something different on their head. Not only are they ridiculed and ostracized by their peers, but some schools turn them away for fear of taking risks, causing serious psychological damage to the hearing impaired community and their families. The significance of this paper is to popularize and publicize relevant knowledge with a story-like way,and to appeal to the society to face up to the hearing impaired groups through the dissemination and sharing of films by show the life and growth experience of hearing impaired groups. The research content of this paper is based on the creation of the documentary Looking for sound, and it tells story from the perspective of hearing impaired people and parents of hearing impaired children,in the form of group image to the community.By telling the story of the four main characters,it reflects the bitterness and happiness in their rehabilitation of the hearing, and the awkwardness and difficulties they have to face when they try to integrate into the society. The narrative from the first perspective and the third perspective are complementary to each other, which can not only express the inner feelings of the narrator, but also guarantees the objectivity and authenticity of the documentary. In some ways hearing impairment makes many children and families feeling unfortunate, however, they are not less enthusiastic about life because of it,They work hard to learn and grow up.Society should give them more tolerance and love, rather than prejudice and alienation.
