| Folk Song has been developed and evolved by the casual singing style through the daily life practices,and its the most direct and vivid expression of the emotion for the day to day life and work.As the earliest linguistic art,folk Song originates and reflects people’s life and local culture.Folk songs are normally created and instructed orally,but with the era of the new generation,folk Songs has been gradually ignored by the younger generation and replaced by the trending Pop music.Thus,In order to awaken the importance of the local folk Songs and the Chinese culture for the younger generation,I personally started with the folk Song which originated from Changli area.Also,with the perspective with the personal singing practices,I have analyzed and summarized the characteristics of Changli folk songs.This thesis was majorly based on the discovery of the singing practices for the Changli folk song,and also supplemented with literature researches and comparative analysis.Changli folk songs were mainly spread in mountainous plains and coastal areas.Changli county,Hebei province has its own place in northern Chinese cultural history.Its unique singing style was promoted and spread with great efforts by many generations from the people of Changli.Additionally,In 2007,Changli folk song has been included in the Ⅱ National Intangible Cultural Heritage list.In today’s development of the Changli folk songs,many Changli folk song artists were actively involved with various national cultural activities.In recent years,many Changli folk song artists has been invited by’Folk Song China’ program which hosted in CCTV Music channel.In the meanwhile,the book ’Chinese Folk Song Summary-Hebei Episode’ has been completed with the help and contribution from many artists who had a great contribution for the development of the Changli folk songs.Exclude the part of Introduction and conclusion,the thesis will be divided into three parts,which briefly analyze and describe the summary of the Changli folk songs,singing characteristics and analysis.Part One,mainly introduced the basic overview of the Changli folk song which based on the analysis of the geographical environment,performance activities,subject context and performance style.Part Two,majorly focused on the singing characteristics of the Changli folk songs as well as the tune singing technique.Changli folk song has unique characteristics which includes its tone,rhythm,lyrics structure and linguistic pattern.We will be analyzing The Tune singing technique for Changli folk song which concluded the Side tune,Retroflex,Gulu tune,control tune,and decor tune.Part three,we will be analyzing the singing practices for the Changli folk song,giving the example for some of the classic Changli songs such as ’Jasmine’,’Embroidered Lantern’,’ Collect Cotton’ and ’Opposite Flowers’.We will be analyzing based on background of the song,the usage of the tune singing technique and emotional expressions.This section will be the most crucial part of the entire thesis,and the detailed analysis will be provided through the personal learning experience as well as the singing practices.With the experience of the two concerts performances across the semesters for the Master’s degree study,as well as the support from the professor.Combining with the real-life practices during the lessons,and researches from the books and audio records.The author has gained better understanding and constructive opinions on the Changli folk song.Nowadays,although we have the access to the scores for the majority of the music,as music scores could only be able to record the melody,it’s far from enough to learn singing just based on the scores.With that been said,the linguistic expression and the tune singing style for the most of the Changli folk songs could not be able to simply reflected by the music scores.Thus,in order to have better performance in Changli folk song,we will need to acknowledge further detailed information regarding the people and cultural aspect of the Changli folk songs.Finally,for the concluding part,it has a brief summary of the singing and future development of the Changli folk songs. |
