Changli Yangko is a representative of Hebei’s folk dance, has an unique characteristic and performance and it was added into the list of National intangible cultural heritage in2006. The born and development of Changli Yangko has been greatly connected with the daily life of Changli locals, so it has a firm foundation of masses. Due to the Changli Yangko’s fine function of beauty and body building, it has attracted the love of masses and people will perform it in the streets and lanes as well as in the square after dinner or on holidays.More and more literary and art workers have started to conduct researches about Changli Yangko, because Hebei province is putting great efforts to protect and develop the folk art. As a student major in Dance, I wish to be part of the force to make contributions to the development of Chinese Folk Dance.Methods such as literature investigation, experts visiting, field trips, video files’collection and questionnaire are used in this paper. The first three chapters is an analysis of the born geography, history background, culture form, dance characteristics, art effect of Changli Yangko. It also goes into the research on dance ontology of Changli Yangko. The forth and fifth chapter has much importance in this paper, with the forth chapter stating the writer’s point on Changli Yangko’s current situation and problems as well as solutions to protect and develop. The fifth chapter continue to discuss the issues of protection and development of Changli Yangko. It also puts the key points of protection and development in a teaching perspective and has an analysis of the importance and ways of developing Changli Yangko teaching. The epilogue is a conclusion and summary of the whole paper.
