Since the 20th century,with the rapid development of digital technology and the deepening of complex scientific research,the traditional digital sculpture has had a revolutionary impact.The application of digital technology,especially the application of parametric technology,further sublimates the traditional concept of "digital".Parametric technology provides a new design mode for sculpture creation.The creator can not only build geometric entities through the data logic of type elements,but also form the data logic of intangible elements to generate unpredictable and accidental shapes through algorithms,and adjust the structure and shape of sculpture through the combination of data.The dynamic change of data directly leads to the contingency of results,but with this contingency comes the "unexpected joy" of modeling.At the same time,the modeling method of parametric design,which is logic before data,can apply the modern complex scientific theory to the creation logic of sculpture to generate a complex form with mathematical order,which greatly enriches the artist's creative ideas.The main body of this paper is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the relationship between "digital" and design form and the change of "digital" meaning from handicraft era to information era.The second part discusses the influence and change of digital technology on traditional sculpture art.The third part focuses on the new creation methods and new creation results brought by the parametric design technology for the digital sculpture art.In the multi information age of cross-border integration,artists should appreciate science and technology from the perspective of art and create art with scientific and technological means.
