| With the continuous development of social economy,the living consumption level of residents is increasing day by day,and the tourism activities to meet people’s increasing cultural and spiritual needs have become the consumption hotspot of the new era.Folklore tourism attracts a large number of tourists with its unique cultural connotation,heavy primitive flavor and rich forms of tourism activities.At the same time,the convenient transportation shortens the space-time distance,improves the accessibility of folklore destinations,reduces the travel time cost,and realizes the efficient and rapid flow of people,logistics and information in the region,further promote the development of folklore tourism.However,in the development of folklore,due to the impact of tourism development and modernity,the content and form of folklore have changed,and folklore is losing soil and space for its survival and development.Therefore,in the process of modernization,a clear understanding of the current status of folklore tourism development and grasping the evolution of folklore will provide important guidance for the protection and development of traditional folklore.In folklore tourism,ethnic folk culture is favored by tourists for its sacredness,mystery,authenticity,and novelty.However,under the influence of Tourism Development and modernity,the structure and function of folklore have changed.Therefore,it is of great significance for the protection and inheritance of folklore to understand clearly the law of the development and evolution of folklore.Taking the Yi People Torch Festival in Liangshan Prefecture of Sichuan Province as an example,according to the spatial change gradient from the traditional Torch Festival area to the non-traditional Torch Festival area,this paper chooses Qiaowo town,Luojishan town,Wudaoqing Township and Xichang city as examples,in-depth interviews were conducted with the residents of five age groups in five case sites to learn about the composition and changes of the Yi Torch Festival in different time(age)and space conditions,and from two dimensions of modernity and tourism development,understanding the formation mechanism of time and space change of the Yi Torch Festival.The survey lasted 27 days and a total of 101 valid samples were obtained.In this paper,folklore is brought into the category of geographical landscape study,and the process and significance of the Yi Torch Festival are analyzed from the perspective of time and space in geography,using the method of combining qualitative analysis with Quantitative analysis,the temporal and spatial variation laws of the Yi Torch Festival process and meaning are obtained.What the study found:(1)Categories of the Yi Torch Festival process and meaning.According to qualitative analysis,the process of the Yi Torch Festival can be summarized as welcoming fire,playing fire,and sending fire.The welcoming fire mainly includes killing pigs and sheep,worshiping ancestors,and lighting torch ceremony;playing fire mainly includes dressing in ethnic costumes,traditional events,modern activities,and lighting torch ceremony;sending fire mainly includes lighting torch ceremony,sending fire,torch belief.The meaning of the Yi Torch Festival is summarized as asking for luck,cultural identity,economic benefits,leisure,social interaction,earning honor.(2)Temporal and spatial variation of the Yi Torch Festival process and its mechanism.By comparing the number and proportion of the programs in the process of change,we found that Puge County and the old people pay more attention to the process of playing with fire during the Yi Torch Festival,while the Xichang and the young people pay more attention to the process of facing fire during the Yi Torch Festival.Through the comparative analysis of the relative concentration index,under the influence of Tourism Development and modernity,the Yi Torch Festival process is selectively exploited and utilized,the links with ornamental and performing features are valued and extended,while the links with daily functions are neglected,there was a structural change in the Yi Torch Festival process.(3)Temporal and spatial variation of the meaning of the Yi Torch Festival and its mechanism.According to the proportional relationship,Puge and the elderly pay more attention to functional meaning(earning honor,social interaction),while Xichang pays more attention to ritual meaning(asking for luck).Through analysis of relative concentration index,under the influence of tourism development/modernity,daily meaning(leisure)and asking for luck are enlarged and used by tourism choices because of the strong sense of ceremony and entertainment,which attracts more attention in areas affected by tourism development/modernity.The functional meanings,because of their deep folklore meaning and community-oriented characteristics,have attracted more attention in traditional areas.(4)Cognition and evaluation of the Yi Torch Festival.According to the analysis of word cloud,"torches" are the core of the Yi Torch Festival.The carnival in the name of torches attracts the most attention of villagers.Followed by "Bull Fighting","Yi People","the Yi Torch Festival",etc.Local villagers fully participate in traditional events such as bull fighting to gain a physical experience."Puge","Lighting the Torch","Wrestling",and "Killing Chicken" have also received attention.Puge’s Ridudisa for the birthplace of the Yi Torch Festival is widely accepted.Through qualitative analysis,it is found that the local Yi people have different opinions on the Yi Torch Festival.Generally speaking,there were more positive evaluations than negative evaluations.The positive evaluation can be summarized as rising festival status,promoting ethnic culture,and increasing attractiveness;negative evaluations include decline in attraction,disappearance of tradition,and commercialization.The innovation of this article is mainly reflected in:combining the concept of geographical landscape with the study of folklore culture,based on in-depth field study,through the comparative analysis of different age groups and different cases,to understand the temporal and spatial changes of folklore culture landscape,It also analyzes the influence mechanism of tourism development and modernity on the Yi Torch Festival,and makes a useful attempt for the study of folklore culture and geography. |
