A series of rong cong pu ye officials(冗从仆射诸官)originated in the Western Han Dynasty, the earliest official is known as rong cong huang men pu ye(冗从黄门仆射).Through a series of change, they have grown into a bureaucracy system.Such as huang men rong cong pu ye(黄门冗从仆射),zhong huang men rong cong pu ye(中黄门冗从仆射),zhong gong huang men rong ye cong pu ye(中宫黄门冗从仆射),rong cong pu ye(冗从仆射),dong gong rong cong pu ye(东宫冗从仆射)and so on.At the same time, there has also been a series of changes in property. They have played more and more important roles in politics, therefore,it is extremely necessary to clear up roundly the series of officials. As the first official——huang men rong cong pu ye,it seems to have been created that because of the development of Huangmenyue and the love of hunting from limited historical data.It has guardian and performing duties, with disappeared after Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. It reappears at the beginning of the Eastern Han Dynasty, however,as a result of Huangmengyue’s loss, its performance function reduced progressively, with enhanced protection function at the same time. Finally,it was changed to rong cong pu ye in the period of Emperor Huan, but it didn’t last long.It produced again zhong huang men rong cong pu ye and zhong gong huang men rong cong pu ye on this basis,to protect Emperor and Queen. The presence of officials held by the eunuch, show strengthening imperial power and powerful eunuchs in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The regime has been changed ceaselessly in the Wei-Jin Dynasties,in the meantime, the bureaucracy system has also entered a period of great change, huang men rong cong pu ye still has a guardian duty. However, zhong huang men rong cong pu ye was transformed into rong cong pu ye at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty,in terms of affiliation, incumbents and duties,it takes on an outward appearance. The point is clear that rong cong pu ye in the late Eastern Han Dynasty was different from that in Emperor Huan, there is a world of difference between the two. It’s just the same name and two different lines, the official of the Emperor Huan was transformed into the official of the eunuch and is still in the inner court,by contrast, the official in the late Eastern Han Dynasty have gone to the foreign court. The Western Jin Dynasty perished and the Eastern Jin Dynasty established, there are two different system in the North-South regime, and there is a big difference in the positions, but officials continue in the Northern and Southern bureaucracy system, the different development trend of the rong cong pu ye officials becomes the silhouette of the differences between the two regimes.First of all,on the basis of rong cong pu ye held by foreign ministers, derived from dong gong rong cong pu ye to protect the prince in the Eastern Jin and Southern dynasties. On the contrary,in the Sixteen Kingdoms and the Northern Dynasties,it inherited the tradition of rong cong pu ye officials guarding Emperor of the Han Dynasty,Huang men rong cong pu ye and zhong huang men rong cong pu ye were restored, but then disappeared.Secondly, there was a tendency of diversion for rong cong pu ye in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the differences can be seen in terms of their incumbents, their responsibilities and the roles they play.Rong cong pu ye officials have always existed in the Han-Wei and Six Dynasties. There are a lot of similar official names, which can cause confusion. And there are different roles in the development process, but there’s no denying that they’re all guardsmen around the Emperor.Zhong gong huang men rong cong pu ye is based on zhong huang men rong cong pu ye and dong gong rong cong pu ye is based on rong cong pu ye.It is necessary to sort out the evolution of many rong cong pu ye officials, which helps to understand the development of politics and the essence of absolute monarchy from the Western Han Dynasty to the Northern and Southern dynasties.
