Research On The National Language Movement From The Perspective Of Modern Language Planning

Based on the theory of Language Policy and Language Plan,this paper observes the National Language Movement in the history of modern China,from the perspective of Spolsky's theory of language policy.Through the observation of the history of the National Language Movement,it is believed that "common body of scientific discourse" constitutes the "scientific language domain" and the audio media industry constitutes the "audio media language domain".By contrast the language practice and language management activities of these two domains,the language beliefs related to the cultivation of National Common Language in the two domains can be discovered.It is believed that the language management of the two domains has successfully cultivated a functional variety of National Common Language respectively.The main conclusion in this paper is to meet the expression needs of people in different communicative scenarios,we need to pay attention to the cultivation of different functional varieties of National Common Language.This paper consists of four parts.The first part is the introduction,which defines the important concepts in this paper,make reviews of the development of language planning theory,and of the research of the National Language Movement.The first chapter is "Language Planning of the Scientific Language Domain".This chapter summarizes the language practice of the scientific language domain and observes the language management activities of this domain from the two levels of simple language management and organized language management.It is further pointed out that the language practice and language management of the scientific language domain have cultivated a variety of National Common Language suitable for expression of scientific discourse,which enriches the vocabulary and grammatical variations of National Common Language.The second chapter is "Language Planning of the Audio Media Domain".In this chapter we point out that the film and broadcast audio media industry in the era of the National Language Movement constitute the domain of audio media language in the public language management domain,then observes.the language management in the domain from the two levels of simple language management and organized language management.The third chapter is "The results and influence of the language planning of scientific language domain and audio media language domain".This chapter summarizes the results of language planning of scientific language domain and audio media language domain in the National Language Movement,and point out that the two language domains have developed functional variants suitable for the communicative needs of their language domains.These two language domains have a profound impact on the construction of lingua franca...
