Research On The Factors Influencing The Efficiency Of Socially Run Hospitals In Guizhou Province From The Perspective Of Resource Dependence Theory

In order to meet the People's needs for medical services,the government has introduced private medical institutions to supplement public hospitals and increase the supply of medical services.However,up to now,the number of private hospitals has exceeded that of public hospitals,public hospitals still hold the dominant position in the medical market.Therefore,it is of great significance for private medical institutions' development to know the situation of private hospitals and find the obstacles that prevents theirs development.This study selected 867 sample hospitals in 88 counties of Guizhou Province to show the basic development status of private hospitals.Taking the total number of staff and workers,the number of beds and the total expenditure as input indexes,the number of outpatient and emergency treatment,the number of discharge from hospital and the medical income as output indexes,using DEA to calculate the technical efficiency of private hospitals.Based on the theory of resource dependence,this paper puts forward four variables: policy support,resource endowment,market competition and medical technology,with technical efficiency as dependent variable and four specific measurement indexes as independent variables,using Tobit regression model to analyze the factors influencing the efficiency of private hospitals.The results show that the private hospitals has large quantity but with small scale operation and uneven development,the efficiency of hospital operation is not good,and medical technology is the obstacle of private hospitals' development.Combining domestic and international experience,the government should strengthen the implementation of supporting policies and promote the internal competition of private hospitals,strengthen quality management and improving medical technology and service level,open the path of public supervision to reduce people's prejudice.In short,we also need to ensure quality while developing the quantity of the private hospitals.The improvement of the hospital efficiency lies in the medical quality,the main idea is to improve the medical technology and service level,and the goal is to provide people with more better medical service.
