| Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)cardiac quality has long rooted in Chinese traditional culture and TCM theories underpinned by theoretical doctrines of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism as well as medicine.TCM cardiac quality is subject to the guidance of theories on Traditional Chinese Medical Constitution and TCM psychology,and takes wholeness psychology and modern psychology for reference.It gives a profound interpretation on the current disciplines of psychology,disposition,and mentality for their applications in practice,and further proposes the core concept of cardiac quality which mainly studies people's idiosyncrasy and characteristics of cardiac quality as well as the effects on the physiopathology.Besides,theories on cardiac quality can contribute to the prevention and control of cardiac quality disorder for a better physical and spiritual life.TCM cardiac quality divides people's cardiac quality into three aspects:soul disposition,mentality idiosyncrasy,and mind quality,among which mentality idiosyncrasy is the most significant and stable characteristic widely seen in Chinese ancient books and modern psychology research.As for the empirical study of TCM cardiac quality,mentality idiosyncrasy is the optimum object of research.Objective:this paper aims to summarize the research on TCM cardiac quality from the Chinese traditional culture with Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism as well as medicine as the representative,extract connotations of TCM cardiac quality and compile the vocabulary and dimension scale for the cardiac quality,thus contributing to the dimension measurement on cardiac quality and providing a better foundation for theories of the TCM cardiac quality.Method:The literature research method is used based on the related theories.Interpretations on TCM cardiac quality are summarized from the ancient classics such as Da Xue,Zhong Yong,The Analects of Confucius,Meng Zi,The Book of Tao and Teh,Zhuang Zi,Vij??pti-m?trat?-siddhi-s?stra,and Huangdi Neijing;the structure and connotation of cardiac quality are extracted.In addition,research methods of lexicology are adopted to extract vocabularies related to cardiac quality from the above books and The Ancient Chinese Dictionary.Then the glossary is compiled with translation and conversion for the questionnaire design,and the dimension scale is formulated for issue and recycling.After that,testing of validity and reliability is carried out,and the dimensionality model of cardiac quality is built by means of the factor analysis.Result:Literatures have shown that the origin of mentality idiosyncrasy is the word "Shi Shen"whose connotations are acquired and influenced by many factors including the environment,social relationship,and education.It is the collection of people's cognition and thinking about self,others,and the world,and mainly manifests one's character and morals,the personality,attitude of dealing with affairs,and manner of dealing with people etc.Lexical extraction gives 839 ancient vocabularies to describe mentality idiosyncrasy at the beginning.Thesaurus screening and translation into the modern Chinese are performed to design a questionnaire.According to the questionnaire survey and team discussion,the glossary containing 214 vocabularies describing mentality idiosyncrasy is formulated.Besides,the dimension scale of mentality idiosyncrasy is compiled based on the glossary,with its validity and reliability verified to be within a permissive range by the survey.Results of the factor analysis finally builds the dimension model of mentality idiosyncrasy that contains 4 dimensions and 53 items.Conclusion:Mentality idiosyncrasy is an essential component of TCM cardiac quality with well-founded theories,and widely seen in the doctrines of various Chinese traditional culture.By means of the cardiac quality theories and verification of the scale,the dimension model with validity and reliability is obtained,which can provide a basic support for the future research. |
