ObjectiveThe purpose of this study was to observe the changes of sperm status during semen examination before and 3 months and 6 months after laparoscopic total extraperitoneal herniorrhaphy(TE)in male patients with neutral insufficient inguinal hernia, and to observe the effect of this surgical method on sperm quality. It can be used to select surgical methods for male inguinal hernia patients who are unmarried, have no fertility and still have fertility requirements. For reference.MethodsFrom January 2018 to January 2019,33 cases of male inguinal hernia with insufficient breath were treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Laparoscopic total extraperitoneal herniorrhaphy(TE)was chosen as the operative method. The results of semen routine examination and sperm morphology were collected from the laboratory of Reproductive Medicine Department of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine before and after the operation for 3 months and 6 months after the operation. The effect of laparoscopic total extraperitoneal hernioplasty(TEP)on sperm quality was evaluated comprehensively by using statistical analysis data.ResultsA total of 33 patients were enrolled in this study.Three of them were>or personal reasons.Thirty patients finally completed the study. All patients completed the study strictly according to the above research plan and standards.During hospitalization, all patients took the decoction of Buzhong Yiqi Recipe, and it was found that 3 patients were able to withdraw from the study after operation. There was no significant difference in total sperm count, semen volume, sperm concentration, total sperm viability, sperm forward motility,A-grade sperm viability, sperm PH value, and sperm deformity rate between the two groups(P > 0.05),suggesting that laparoscopic total extraperitoneal herniorrhaphy(TEP)itself had no significant effect on sperm quality in men with mid-qi deficiency(P > 0.05).There was no significant difference in total sperm count, semen volume, sperm concentration, total sperm viability, sperm forward motility,A-grade sperm viability, sperm PH value and sperm malformation rate in the semen examination of the last three months(P > 0.05),suggesting that there was no significant change in the sperm condition between the six months after operation and the three months after operation;the total sperm count, sperm volume and sperm concentration in the six months after operation and the preoperative semen examination were no significant change. There was no significant difference in total sperm viability, forward motility, sperm PH value and sperm deformity rate(P >0.05),but there was significant difference in grade A sperm viability between6 months postoperatively and preoperatively(P < 0.05),suggesting that grade A sperm viability may be improved 6 months postoperatively.Conclusion1.Laparoscopic total extraperitoneal herniorrhaphy(TEP)itself has no significant effect on the semen examination of men with “air deficiency”.2.In this study,we observed a slight improvement in sperm motility at grade A 6 months after operation.3.Laparoscopic total extraperitoneal hernia repair(TEP)may be a safe and effective surgical method for the treatment of male inguinal hernia with“air deficiency”.
