Clinical Study Of Qingchangwen Chinese Recipe In Treating Ulcerative Colitis With Mixed Cold And Heat, Damp-heat Stasis Type

Background:Ulcerative colitis is a difficult disease of digestive system.The pathogenesis of the disease is unclear and the mainly western medicine treatment incloud salicylic acid preparation,corticosteroids,immunosuppressants,and probiotics.But there are some limitations efficacy and long-term use has certain side effects.Professor Lijun Xiang combined with years of clinical experience and founded a prescription named Qingchangwenzhongfang treating this disease.Early clinical observations have proved Qingchangwenzhongfang can improve patient’s symptoms,make the quality of life better,promote healing of intestinal mucosa of patients.This recipe can achieve good results.Objective:The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Qingchangwenzhongfang on clinical symptoms,mucosal lesions,disease activity,and quality of life of patients with Ulcerative colitis.By comparing the similarities and differences between Qingchangwenzhongfang and Mesalazine enteric-coated tablets in improving patient’s above indicators,we can Clear the clinical efficacy of preparation on active ulcerative colitis and provide a scientific basis for the wide use of clinical applications.Methods:The cases in this study come from the gastroenterology clinic and hospitalized patients in Oriental Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Oriental Hospital and Beijing Military General Hospital.According to exposure factors during follow-up,the 120 patients be divided into Qingchangwenzhongfang(TCM)group and mesalazine enteric-coated tablets(medicine)groups and each group has 60 patients.The TCM group patients treated with Qingchangwenzhongfang twice daily.Western medicine group are given Mesalazine enteric-coated tablets 4g/d.Before taking drugs,we should assess general information and clinical symptoms and evaluate clinical symptoms,mucosal lesions,disease activity,quality of life after 8 weeks using SPSS 22.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.Results:(1)TCM syndromes:the total effective rate of TCM group is 83.9%while the other is 81.7%and the total effective rate in two groups has no significant difference(P>0.05).Compared with the integral before treatment,the scores are raised and the difference has statistically significant(P<0.05)(2)quality of life:the integral two groups increased in bowel symptoms,systemic symptoms,emotional function and social function,the difference has statistically significant(P<0.05).There is no statistically significant between groups(P>0.05)(3)disease activity:Mayo score of two patients groups decreased than before treatment(P<0.05).The total effective rate of TCM group is 91.3%while the other is 86.7%and the difference in two groups has no significant difference(P>0.05)(4)safety evaluation:After treatment,the patients’ safety tests show no abnormalities and drug-related adverse events did not occur.Conclusion:Qingchangwenzhongfang can significantly reduce clinical symptoms,lower disease activity and improve quality of life of active ulcerative colitis patients.There is no statistical difference(P>0.05)compared with the western medicine group.Qingchangwenzhongfang have no significant adverse reactions in clinical application and the use of it in clinical is safty.
