A Study On The Preservation And Renewal Of The Texture Of Urban Historic Districts

If a city is compared to a living cell body,then the spatial elements such as streets,buildings,public places and greenbelt are her daughter cells.Their continuous proliferation,growth and evolution have created the urban texture and growth of the entire city.Urban texture,which was abstracted as a combination of urban space and urban elements,is one of the manifestations of urban characteristics.It helps people clearly understand the city spatial structure and key components,trace the historical evolution and urban spatial evolution law of the city,and then experience the culture and emotion inherited in urban planning and design.Among many methods of analyzing urban texture,abstracting the "figure-ground" of the city is an effective and direct approach in the analysis of urban texture,no matter from the macroscopic aspects such as the overall planning structure,or from the microscopic space such as the single building.Yantai has numerous historical and cultural blocks as a national historic city,among which Qishansuo,the birthplace of Yantai,has a history of more than 600 years.This paper intends to apply the theoretical research of Figure-Ground Theory and integrate the methods of field research,historical inquiry,documentary research and contrastive analysis,etc.,analyzing the present situation and the texture of the reconstruction of the historical blocks in Qishansuo.Through research,this paper aims to search for the forgotten history of Qishansuo,explore its evolution process and summarize the texture characteristics of its historical blocks.Meanwhile,it will provide a reference of the transformation and renewal model for the future development of Qishansuo,seeking a way to replicate and promote the conservation development of similar historical blocks.
