In today's fast growing automotive industry,school buses of different models and colors are used every day to transport students.As a special vehicle designed specifically for students,each country has extremely strict requirements for its appearance in terms of form,colour and material to better ensure the safety of students.The main function of a school bus is to transport students to and from school and to meet the needs of students for safety,comfort and convenience.School buses help to gather scattered groups of students,relieve road congestion around schools and help parents to balance their commute with their children's commute to school.At the same time,the school bus will enhance the emotional interaction between students on their way to and from school,helping them to develop a positive,cheerful and communicative personality.The current mix of school transport models,confusing management,lack of design for special needs,and the stereotypical impression of dark yellow long-nosed North American school buses require innovative design and redefinition of school bus appearance.Based on the product semantic design approach,the semantic design process of selecting design objectives,then analyse the design logic and arriving at design results is studied to enhance the appearance of the school bus form,detailing symbols,colors and materials to convey the design language brought by the particular vehicle.On the basis of satisfying the physical and physiological functions of students,drivers and managers,the psychological and spiritual needs are better met and the form,structure,function and use of the school bus are clarifiedTherefore,based on the product semantic design method,the design is based on the semantic meaning of safety and affection and the semantic meaning of "bunny",observing the dynamic state of the pet "bunny" when running and jumping,and the changes of the ears,limbs and body parts when moving."The rabbit's body lines and five senses are summarised and integrated with the exterior of the school bus to create a richer,more dynamic visual semantic character.Combining new forms,colors,materials and functions,the design analyses the physiological and psychological needs of school-age children aged 9-15,who are the most frequent riders of school buses and have the greatest demand,and integrates Chinese national conditions and cultural connotations to create an innovative design for the appearance of school buses that integrates safety,friendly escort and intelligent transport.
