The elderly population over 60 years of age in our country has exceeded 200 million, and will continue to grow continuously for a long period of time.Faced with the increasingly serious problem of aging population, age and chronic diseases limit the ability of urban elderly to travel;at the same time, the huge elderly travel has also brought new and greater pressure on urban transportation, and related issues are worth studying.Aiming at the inadequacy of the research on the influencing factors of the elderly travel ability, according to the questionnaire survey of the elderly travel in Kunming, the chronic diseases and the characteristics of age and travel ability of the elderly are analyzed.According to the epidemiology of the elderly, the health index of chronic disease prevalence was selected as an intermediary variable, and the relationship between the prevalence of different diseases and travel ability was analyzed using polynomial regression, and a fitting curve was obtained. The results of the study show that the prevalence of chronic diseases of the elderly shows an upward trend with age. While the travel ability of the elderly is affected by age,the prevalence rate has a catalytic effect on it.The rate of decline in the prevalence of chronic diseases varies.Using the prevalence of chronic diseases as intermediary variables, the intermediary effect between age and travel ability was analyzed. The prevalence of chronic diseases as an intermediary variable had a significant indirect effect on travel ability. When the elderly suffer from at least one chronic disease, age mainly affects the ability to travel indirectly through the prevalence of chronic diseases, and the direct effect is not significant at this time;when comparing cardio-cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes, respiratory diseases, and joint system diseases respectively, its center The indirect effect of cerebrovascular disease and joint system disease on travel ability is higher than that of the other two or two chronic diseases, and the intermediary effect of diabetes is not significant.Reconstructed the correlation between age and travel ability of the elderly. The results show that: overall, the travel ability of the elderly tends to decline with age;in the 60-68 age group, the travel ability of the elderly increases with age Decline steadily, and the downward trend presents an approximately straight line;the ability to travel basically does not change much between the ages of 68-73,because this is the period when the elderly transition from the younger age to the middle age,the elderly’s travel activities and travel the way is basically stable,so the overall travel ability of the sampled surveys has not changed much;when the age is greater than 73 years old,the travel ability of the elderly declines significantly with age and eventually approaches 0,at this time the elderly basically lose their independence the ability to complete transportation.
