Imagination exists not only in the activities of scientists,but also in students' scientific learning,and is closely related to both.Chemistry as a natural science,its formation and development can not be separated from the chemist's imagination,the cultivation of imagination is also one of the important goals of chemistry education.The society in the new era needs imaginative talents.As the guide and facilitator of basic chemistry education in the future,the development of chemistry normal university students' scientific imagination will affect their future chemistry teaching ability.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate and study the development of their scientific imagination.Papers at home and abroad about the scientific imagination made in this paper,the existing research and analysis,on this basis,defines the concept of scientific imagination as "on the basis of certain data,in accordance with the requirements for a specific task,based on existing scientific knowledge or experience,formed independently and active chemical hypothesis,or claims in order to solve the problem and realize the chemical chemical innovation ability",has the richness,creativity and rationality,four critical characteristics.These four characteristics are taken as the basis for dividing the dimensions of scientific imagination and the evaluation framework of the scientific imagination of normal chemistry students is constructed in combination with the Tulmin demonstration model.Through trial testing,case interview and multiparty opinions,the questionnaire is optimized and the evaluation standard is modified to obtain the evaluation tool to be used in this study.Formal testing to item response theory of Rasch model of assessment tools for inspection,reliability and validity of the assessment tools optimization has certain scientific nature and rationality,to make quantitative analysis of the collected data,mainly includes the performance evaluation of the subjects in different dimensions of scientific imagination,different tasks and grade difference analysis,and makes certain interpretation of the statistical analysis results and puts forward suggestions.The results show that the development of the normal chemistry students' scientific imagination is not balanced in all dimensions,the best performance in the richness dimension,the worst performance in the creativity dimension.Their level of scientific imagination was affected by the test tasks,but the grade difference of normal chemistry students had no significant influence on the overall level of scientific imagination and the scores of creativity,rationality and criticality.Teachers can stimulate students' learning motivation,to guide students metacognitive monitoring,training students' migration strategy,create a relaxed classroom atmosphere,decorate need critical thinking task,realize the diversification of evaluation subject objectively in order to improve the students consciousness and ability of self-evaluation and evaluation ways to cultivate and develop the students' science and imagination.
