Due to the development of the nation and society, the concepts of the New Curriculum Reform have been gradually deepened in all fields of chemistry teaching. The new chemistry teaching environment under the New Curriculum Reform concept demands more on chemistry teacher’s teaching ability and skills, which certainly will have a higher requirement on training in teaching skills of students majoring in Chemistry in normal universities.Students majoring in Chemistry in normal universities act as the main force to promote the chemistry teaching in China and keeping pace with the times. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to cultivate and enhance the teaching ability of them. Currently, studies are mainly focused on the management and self-promotion of in-job teachers, while few studies are conducted on the teaching skill enhancement of student teachers in normal universities.Teaching designing ability plays a major role in the constitution of teacher quality. The level of teaching designing ability depends on the integrity of the teaching content, the clarity of the designing level, the rigor of the logical structure and the systematic structure of the content. Mind map is a kind of thinking visualization tool, which can fully activate the working efficiency of both sides of the brain by using the tree-like divergent structure and all kinds of images, symbols and sound. The application advantages of the mind map has been proved in different sections in teaching process such as the teaching designing, classroom presentation, memorization, thinking divergence, etc,. And it has been widely accepted by experts in teaching and teachers in the first front. Based on the characteristics and concept of mind map and the combination of age features and current situation of teachers in high schools, this paper intends to study how to fully apply the advantages of mind map to the training of student teachers in normal universities, enhance their teaching designing abilities, and expand the application area of mind map in China.This paper can be divided into the following four parts.The first part is the literature review, mainly introducing the origin, development, the related achievements and future development of mind map in China. With the accordance to the current situation, the opinions and presentation theories of mind map are put forward and illustrated in this paper, so are the meaning and the practicality of the application of mind map on the teaching ability training of student teachers in normal universities.The second part focuses on the background, the contents, the objectives, the method, the primary study plan of this paper and personal understanding. It also includes some daily used information technology platforms of mind map in China.The third part is divided into the third chapter and the fourth. In this part, the specific research process is introduced, including the constitution of the scheme, the selection of the study object, the research of the object features, the implementation process, the experimental effect, the evaluation and conclusion of related experiment and so on.The last part is about the self examination of this paper, illustrating the innovation points and shortcomings of the study. Also the related suggestions of future study are given.
