Image Research And Application Of Gaochun Dancing Five Rampant Nuo Masks

Wu area in the south of the Yangtze River has been in vogue since ancient times.As the main remains of Nuo culture in southern Jiangsu,"Tiao Wu ran" in Gaochun,Nanjing,contains rich cultural connotations.This paper focuses on the image research of Gaochun "Tiao Wu ran" Nuo mask,mainly from the shape,structure,color,pattern and other aspects of the artistic characteristics of the mask graphic analysis,emphasis on horizontal and vertical comparative study.First of all,this paper analyzes the overall and Deconstruction of Gaochun's "Tiao Wu ran" Nuo mask,so as to reflect the unity of scientificity and artistry in craftsman's production and actor's performance.Secondly,through the analysis of the facial structure of Gaochun's "Tiao Wu ran" Nuo mask in different time and space,it is found that the facial structure of Nuo mask follows certain modeling rules,showing the characteristics of leopard's eyes wide open,bloody mouth,grinning teeth,etc,reflecting the theme of "exorcising ghosts and pestilence".Thirdly,through the analysis of the decorative characteristics of the representative Nuo mask patterns,it is found that the patterns of Nuo mask are mostly auspicious patterns such as Ruyi pattern and flame pattern,which are the most sincere and simple emotional expression of the working people,and reflect the function of "descending auspicious luck".At the same time,the color of Gaochun's Nuo mask mainly follows the concept of "five elements and five colors".Finally,on the basis of refining the modeling characteristics of Nuo mask,this paper redesigns its image and discusses its application in modern design.Each mask represents a deity and protects a religion.Nuo mask is not only the "make-up" in the artistic sense,but also carries the unique cultural connotation and values of the Chinese people.It is the soul of the whole Nuo dance.Therefore,the image study of Gaochun's "Tiao Wu ran" Nuo mask is an important way to reveal the emotional world behind the Nuo mask and the philosophical concept of "harmony between heaven,earth and man".
