Research On "Wenxi Huamo" In Yuncheng, Shanxi

As one branch of traditional folk arts,dough modelling is the substantial carrier of national culture in particular areas and reserves in the long course of history.However,along with the acceleration of modernization process in the whole society and continuous improvement of mechanization degree since the 20 th century,the folk arts and handicrafts have been encountered the survival crisis,and Wenxi flower bun is no exception.As an indispensable part of the local resident's daily life,wenxi flower bun is one of the excellent folk arts,which exists in every aspect of people's lives for thousands of years.The craftsmen use the most ordinary material,most common tool and most familiar kneading way to make the artwork of flower bun full of emotion.It has the characteristics of various functions,exaggerated shapes and magnificent colors.Moreover,it has gone though the most important points in the life of local residents,which has rich cultural connotations and symbolic meanings.The article takes the wenxi flower bun in Shanxi Yuncheng district as the research subject,conducts specific on-the-spot investigations many times combining with the methods of literature research and field study,and then further surveys and studies wenxi flower bun food.Through combing its origin and development and placing it in the specific space-time environment and regional culture,the article analyzes the folk functions,shape features and material craftwork features from the perspective of design science,tries to analyze and summarize the arts features of flower bun,discusses the design ideas of flower bun art,and then analyzes and summarizes its historical and cultural value,art aesthetic value,economic value and so on.
