Looking back to the development of modern ceramic art,Japan and America broke out Sodeisha and Otis ceramic movement successively in 1950 s.The creation of ceramic works started to pay attention to the outburst of artistic language and personal emotion,which were different from traditional ceramic works in the past and did not dwell on the vessel form with utility functions.This promoted ceramists to explore the creative performance of ceramic art and the shift from aesthetic pursuit to modern art,marking the progress that ceramic art was formally integrated in modern art.The epoch-making innovation movement of ceramic art allowed ceramic art to show its unique artistic language.Besides,as one of the most famous schools of art,abstract expressionism also exerted its influence on the development of modern ceramics with its style and ideological trend.Features of anti-form and freedom of techniques highlighted in abstract expressionism were given impromptu and free play in the creation of ceramic art.Clay served as the carrier of inner thought and emotion.Raku,as a niche firing process,is the pure performance of the creation of modern ceramic art.It bears unique aesthetic thought and spiritual connotation.The author analyzed the element of abstract expressionism in artistic language of Raku from the perspective of its artistic expression and firing practice and analyzed the influence of its artistic language on the creation of ceramic art,based on the research of drawings and ceramic art of abstract expressionism and the study of Raku.
