The Analysis Of Abstract Elements’ Application In Modern Women’s Clothing From The Mondrian Painting

Because of the development of social economy, the integration of diversified culture were accelerated, people are paying more attention to the clothing, at the same time, the position of clothing is also increased among people’s life. Propelled by the contemporary trend, people’s requirement of the clothing are not only including covering and keeping warm, but also the personalized pursuit and artistic visual appreciation, therefore, the aesthetic of clothing has become the mainstream which people pursued, and also become to the target of the designers. At the same time the costume design trend to a diversification path, designers start to looking for new creation sources from other art areas. Painting art always attracting the designers’ attention, all of the image, color and emotion expression of abstract painting with an identification and freedom expression method, and this could make the whole picture balanced and unified, this kind of freedom expression form injected new inspiration to fashion design. The generally application method of artistic inspiration in modern fashion design is through the concretization expression form expresses the abstract thoughts, using colors, fabrics, and modellings reproduce the designers’ inspiration and convey this to the people through the visual effect. So the analysis of the application of abstract painting in costume design is not only the needed of social economy development, but also the direction of fashion trends,meanwhile, beginning with the abstract painting will help designers pay more attention to the arts, and will inspire designer’s innovation and inspiration. Through the analysis of the Mondrian painting’s abstract elements embodiment form in costume designing’s art composition, collage and pure color, according to the fashion trends and contemporary people’s aesthetic, combined with the market demand, used the Mondrian painting’s straight line and three primary color in costume designing, and find out the new form in the costume design. This paper tries to seek the costume design inspiration from the Mondrian’s abstract painting, and try to explore application of the characteristics of abstract elements in the clothing design.
