| The rapid development of information society poses new challenges to education, and at the same time puts forward new requirements to the cultivation of high-quality talents. The Outline of the National Plan for Medium-and Long-term Education Reform and Development(2010-2020)puts forward that efforts should be made to improve students’ learning ability, practical ability,problem-solving ability and innovation ability.STEM education advocates interdisciplinary learning, takes ability training as the core, attaches importance to practical operation and the cultivation of students’ comprehensive quality, which is of far-reaching significance for the cultivation of innovative and high-quality talents in China.Under the background of the three-level curriculum management system reform of basic education in China, many schools have integrated the connotation of STEM education to set up STEM school-based courses centering on ability cultivation and aiming at cultivating students’ comprehensive quality. However,in the development process of STEM school-based curriculum activities, there are widespread problems such as uncertain interdisciplinary knowledge objectives, unclear level of activity objectives, and lack of definite curriculum expectations and demands, which seriously affect the cultivation effect of STEM education. The teaching concept of OBE emphasizes student-centered,aims at cultivating talents needed by the society, and reverse-designs the teaching process with the expected learning results obtained by students as the target and starting point, providing a new idea for the design of STEM school-based curriculum activities. This study designs and practices STEM school-based curriculum activities in primary schools based on OBE teaching philosophy, aiming to optimize the deep integration of STEM education and school-based curriculum and promote the implementation and development of STEM education in China. In this thesis, literature analysis is firstly used to sort out STEM education at home and abroad,OBE teaching concept and relevant literatures of STEM school-based curriculum in China, and the existing problems in the development of STEM school-based curriculum activities in China are summarized, and then the possibility of using OBE teaching concept to guide the design of STEM school-based curriculum activities in primary schools is elaborated.Secondly, supported by constructivism learning theory, situational learning theory, multiple intelligence theory and activity theory,STEM school-based curriculum activity design of primary schools based on OBE teaching philosophy is carried out.The STEM school-based curriculum activity design of the primary school includes four parts: defining activity objectives, carrying out curriculum activities, evaluating activity results and applying activity results. The learning results-oriented activity objectives are clearly defined, followed by curriculum activities with "learning situation creation--learning process realization--Learning outcome output" as the core, comprehensive evaluation of STEM school-based curriculum activities in primary schools is carried out through the multiple evaluation system, and finally the activity results are applied. Finally, the case of Darts Duel in Scratch,a STEM school-based course in primary school, was used for teaching practice.Through the collection and analysis of relevant data in the activity process, the feasibility and effectiveness of the design was verified.Under the guidance of OBE teaching philosophy, this study designed STEM school-based curriculum activities in primary schools, which not only solved the problems of uncertain interdisciplinary knowledge objectives, unclear level of activity objectives, and lack of definite curriculum expectations and needs in the process of STEM school-based curriculum activities. It also improves learners’ learning ability,hands-on ability, innovation ability, problem solving ability and STEM literacy, providing a reference for the development of STEM school-based curriculum in China and a new idea for the further promotion of STEM education. |
