In the vast rural areas of our country, with the increase of farmers ’ income and the change of education concept, farmers ’ desire for quality education is also increasing. Many parents choose boarding or renting to transfer their children to urban schools. However,in reality,it is difficult for rural students to adapt to the learning environment and life in new schools, which brings adverse effects to their academic physical and mental health. From the perspective of social distance, this study combs the literature on rural students ’ transfer, social distance and its influencing factors, and divides the social distance of rural students into four dimensions : economic distance, communication distance, cultural distance and psychological distance.Under the guidance of ecological system theory and education equity theory, this paper analyzes the motivation of rural students ’ transfer to school and the practical difficulties they face, and constructs the influencing factors model of rural students ’ social distance to school. On the basis of previous studies, variables were screened, and 15 factors including students ’ gender, age, grade, class ranking, father ’s occupation, father ’s education level, family economic status, school type,teacher-student relationship, peer relationship, school merger, household registration system, current residence, hometown and dialect understanding ability were selected and included in the regression model.Through field investigation of schools in some areas of Dingxi City,Gansu Province, and data statistics and binary logistic regression analysis of 223 questionnaires after recycling, the conclusions of this study were drawn. The main contents of this study include the following aspects.Firstly, based on the theory and research, this paper deeply analyzes the realistic dilemma of the integration of rural students into education, mainly including the difficulties of rural students ’ learning adaptation, poor behavioral adaptation and emotional adaptation, the alienation of teacher-student relationship, and the discomfort of peer relationship communication, and systematically analyzes the deep-seated reasons for rural students ’ transfer from the micro, intermediary, appearance and social macro perspectives.Second, empirical analysis.Firstly, descriptive statistics is used to analyze the basic situation and related characteristics of research samples. The correlation analysis between the above 15 factors and the four dimensions of social distance is conducted to understand the correlation between each variable and the social distance to school, and the variables are preliminarily screened.Secondly, the independent variables and dependent variables are selected and assigned, that is,the four dimensions of social distance are taken as the dependent variables, and the relevant influencing factors are taken as the independent variables and the indicators are assigned to provide the basis for the establishment of the model.Thirdly, the theoretical models of different dimensions of social distance are established to analyze the main independent variables; Finally, the binary logistics regression model is used to analyze the independent variables in the regression model. The results show that students ’ gender, class ranking, father ’s educational level, family economic status,teacher-student and peer relationship, school merger, household registration system and dialect understanding have significant influence on the social distance of rural transfer students.Third, based on the conclusions of this paper, how to reduce the rural students ’ social distance countermeasures. It mainly includes : efforts to solve the problem of poverty, reduce the economic distance of students ’ families, deepen the reform of school system, establish a long-term mechanism for the integration of rural students ’ education, create a new urban-rural integration culture, strengthen the cultural integration of rural students, strengthen the construction of mental health system, and reduce the psychological distance of rural students.
