If so,is the correlation between the two positive or negative? Why? The research uses questionnaire to explore the impact of teachers’ evaluation on college teachers’ professional well-being from four aspects: evaluation criteria, evaluation types, data collection methods and evaluation use. This article consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 explains the reason why this research topic was chosen, the purpose, meaning, content and methods of the research.Chapter 2 introduces the theoretical foundation of the research, including the fourth generation of educational evaluation theory and teacher’s empowerment theory.Chapter 3 analyzes the positive impacts of teachers’ evaluation on college teachers’ professional well-being.The data shows:(1)Evaluation criteria attached great importance to both teaching and scientific research have a stronger influence on teachers’ professional well-being;(2)Evaluation results used for improvement of teaching and scientific research have stronger influence on teachers’ professional well-being.The reasons for the results are found to be that teaching and scientific research are both important in mobilizing teachers’ working emotions, and evaluation results used in professional improvement could enhance teachers’ job satisfaction.Chapter 4 analyzes the negative impacts of teacher’s evaluation on teacher’s professional well-being and the reason. The data shows:(1)Data collection solely in quantitative research will lower teachers’ professional well-being,which was low;(2)Formative evaluation will lower teachers’ professional well-being.(3)Evaluation results used only for grading the teachers will lower teachers’ professional well-being.There are two reasons for these problems. One is that single evaluation method will reduce the enthusiasm of teachers, and the other is that evaluation results used for rewards and punishments will affect the effectiveness of teachers’ work.Chapter 5suggests to strengthen the positive impacts of teachers’ evaluation on teachers’ professional well-being by establishing a new concept of evaluation focusing on promoting the professional development of teachers and an equal negotiation mechanism within multiple subjects. |
