Abstract/Summary:
Asymmetry between the lower limbs is a common problem for athletes.Asymmetry in the athletes’ lower limbs can lead to sports injuries with irreversible effects and can be improved through training interventions.Integrative neuromuscular training(INT)is a comprehensive training programme that meets the needs of different specific movement abilities. In this study, integrated neuromuscular training was used to target lower limb asymmetry in male sprinters,to investigate the extent to which INT improved lower limb asymmetry,at the same time,to analyze the effect of INT and the improved of lower limb asymmetry on 30 m performance. The study used experimental method, literature method and mathematical and statistical method.16 male sprinters specializing in athletic training in Wuhan Institute of Sports were selected as experimental subjects. The subjects were randomly divided into the INT group(n=8)and the control group(n=8).The INT group underwent integrative neuromuscular training, and the control group underwent daily special training for sprint, and the training time of the control group was kept the same as the INT group, three times a week for 90 min each time for 6 weeks.Lower limb circumference(thigh circumference, calf circumference),lower limb power(single leg forward jump distance,6m timed jump time, single leg triple jump and single leg countermovement)and lower limb muscle strength(isometric muscle strength test 60°/s knee flexion and extension peak Torque)and 30 m run were tested on both sides of the subject before and after the experiment to obtain index data, and BSA = 2*(DL-NDL)/(DL+NDL)x 100 %was used to calculate the degree of asymmetry between the bilateral indexes. The following conclusions were ultimately drawn:(1)The sprinters had lower limb asymmetry.Lower limb asymmetry was mainly concentrated in lower limb power and lower limb muscle strength, while lower limb circumference asymmetry is low.(2)six weeks of INT training significantly improved lower limb power and maximum knee flexion and extension strength asymmetry in male sprinters, but not their lower limb circumference asymmetry.(3)Six weeks of INT training and the improvement of lower limb asymmetry significantly improved 30 m performance and improve athletes’ starting and accelerating ability.
