Comparative Study On Internal Balance Mechanism Between NBA And CBA

From October 26 to 29,2020,the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China set the grand goal of building China into a sports power by 2035.With the continuous progress of China’s construction of a sports power,the development of professional sports has become a key issue.The 14 th Five-Year Plan for sports development also points out that we should make overall plans for the development of professional sports,constantly improve the value of China’s professional sports leagues,and strive to build a number of professional leagues with international influence.Professional sports is an ornamental sports event.Its core lies in the competition balance of the league,which is related to the healthy and sustainable development of the league.Therefore,it is particularly important to establish an internal checks and balance mechanism that can control the balance of league competition.The American Men’s Professional Basketball League（NBA）has an advanced league operation mechanism,an efficient management structure and wonderful games dedicated to the audience.Although China’s Men’s Professional Basketball League（CBA）has started a series of institutional reforms since 2016 and has achieved certain results,it is inferior to the NBA League in terms of competition balance.Through the comparison of checks and balances within the NBA and CBA leagues,we learn from the successful experience of the NBA league and find out the shortcomings of the NBA to provide reference for the follow-up reform of China’s CBA league.Based on this,using literature,mathematical statistics,logical analysis and comparative analysis,this paper first briefly describes the evolution of the checks and balances mechanism between the NBA and CBA leagues;secondly,it compares and analyzes the competition balance between NBA and CBA teams in the past five seasons;and then compares the internal checks and balances between the two sides.Mechanism;Finally,we reflect on the internal checks and balances mechanism of both sides to find out the specific reasons that affect the competition balance between the two sides.The research results:（1）Through the comparison of the evolution of the internal checks and balances mechanism of the NBA and the CBA,it can be seen that the main body of the internal checks and balances mechanism of the two sides is different.The internal checks and balances mechanism of the NBA is formulated by the NBA league alone,and the internal checks and balances mechanism of China’s CBA league is formulated by different subjects in different development periods,which is also caused by The reason why the internal checks and balances mechanism of the CBA League is still inadequate many years after its establishment.（2）In terms of the comparison of the strength balance between the NBA and the CBA teams in the past five seasons based on the winning rate standard deviation,championship concentration,the draft system and the player transfer system（the draft system selects nearly 10 seasons）,it can be seen that in general,the overall competitive balance of NBA teams is significantly better than that of China’s CBA League.The talent rate of the draft is relatively high,and the player transfer market is booming.（3）The reason why the NBA League can develop into a world-renowned professional sports league is inseparable from its perfect internal checks and balances.Independent players’ union,a clear salary system,a reasonable team distribution,a hot player transfer market,and an adequate reserve talent reserve have laid a solid foundation for the long-term development of the NBA.In contrast,China’s CBA league is full of problems: "The difference between the government management system and the operation of league companies,the existence of "yin and yang contracts",the uneven distribution of teams and clubs,the "intrasystem" players,the insufficient ability of draft players,and the lack of player unions and labor negotiations are all affecting China’s CBA league.The development.（4）Although the NBA has fair industrial negotiations between labor and management,it is easy to cause the league to shutdown when the two sides are deadlocked,which will bring huge economic losses to both labor and management.The "wage cap" system is the product of negotiations between labor and management.Its essence is to reduce conflicts between labor and management,and there is no good control.Balance of strength between teams.These two aspects also provide a lesson for the follow-up reform of the CBA League.
