Objective: In this study, gluteal muscle strength training was performed on patients with iliotibial band syndrome(ITBS),at the same time, using biomechanical effect of kinesio taping to relax the iliotibial band, then to relieve the symptoms of ITBS and promote the recovery of ITBS.From the perspective of sports rehabilitation,a new comprehensive treatment way is provided for iliotibial band syndrome to achieve precise rehabilitation. In order to teach the running enthusiasts how to do scientific exercises and reduce sports injuries. Methods: 50 subjects were recruited from Xi’an Physical Education University and multiple running groups in Xi ’an.According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,36 subjects with ITBS were further screened out.By using random number table method,36 subjects with ITBS were randomly divided into 3 groups, which were stretching group, simple gluteal muscle strength training group(referred to as muscle strength group),and gluteal muscle strength training combined with kinesio taping group(referred to as combined group),with 12 people in each group.Stretching group adopt the iliotibial band drafting, foam shaft to relax and intermediate frequency treatment;Muscle strength group on the basis of the regular group, increased the gluteal muscle and vastus medialis training;Combined group on the basis of the muscle group, increased kinesio taping. The treatment was performed once a day, three times a week, every other day,and the intervention lasted for 6 weeks. Before intervention and 6 weeks after intervention, the subjects were tested in the laboratory of department of Sports and Health Sciences,Xi’an Physical Education University. The VAS scale was used to evaluate the degree of pain, the LEFS scale was used to evaluate the functional recovery of the subjects, the muscle strength and muscle endurance of the hip abductor muscles were evaluated by the Isomed 2000 isokinetic muscle strength testing system, the balance ability of the affected leg was evaluated by the Y balance test, and the muscle state of the vastus lateralis muscle was evaluated by the TMG muscle state analyzer. The study data were summarized and sorted by Microsoft Excel, and then analyzed by SPSS 23.0.The measurement data were expressed as mean ± standard deviation(?x±s),and the comparison between groups was performed by one-way analysis of variance.Paired sample t-test was used for intra-group comparison before and after intervention, with =0.05 as the test level and P < 0.05 as the significant difference level.P < 0.01 indicates a very significant difference.Results:(1)VAS score: Compared with pre-intervention,the VAS scores of the muscle strength group and the combined group were significantly reduced after 6 weeks of intervention(P<0.01),and the VAS scores of the stretching group were significantly reduced(P<0.05).After 6 weeks of intervention, the VAS scores of the combined group and the muscle strength group were significantly lower than those of the stretch group(P<0.01),but no statistically significant differences was found between the combined group and the muscle strength group(P>0.05).(2)LEFS score: Compared with pre-intervention,the LEFS scores of the muscle strength group increased significantly after 6 weeks of intervention(P<0.01),and the LEFS scores of the stretch group and the combined group increased(P<0.05).After 6weeks of intervention, the LEFS scores of the three groups were significantly improved(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in LEFS scores between pairwise comparisons(P>0.05).(3)Isokinetic muscle strength test indicators:(1)Relative peak torque of the hip abductor muscles: after 6 weeks of intervention, the muscle strength group and the combined group were significantly different from the stretching group(P < 0.05),but no statistically significant differences was found between the combined group and the muscle strength group(P > 0.05).After 6 weeks of intervention, the muscle strength group and the combined group was significantly increased(P < 0.01),but there was no significant difference in the stretching group(P > 0.05).(2)Single maximum work of hip abductor muscles: After 6 weeks of intervention,There are substantial differences between the combined group and the stretching group(P < 0.05),however there was no statistically significant differences between the combined group and the muscle strength group(P > 0.05).Compared with pre-intervention,the muscle strength group was significantly increased(P < 0.01),a significantly increased was found in the combined group(P=0.01),no significant difference was found in the stretching group(P>0.05).(3)Endurance ratio of hip abductor muscles: After 6 weeks of intervention, the combined group and the muscle strength group was significantly different from the stretching group(P < 0.05),no significant differences were identified between the combined group and the muscle strength group yet(P > 0.05).After 6 weeks of intervention, the hip abductor endurance ratio in the muscle strength group was significantly increased(P < 0.01),the hip abductor endurance ratio in the combined group was increased(P < 0.05).No significant difference was found in the stretching group(P > 0.05).(4)Comprehensive score of Y balance test: After 6 weeks of treatment,no significant differences were identified in the Y balance comprehensive score among the three groups(P>0.05).After 6 weeks, the Y balance comprehensive score of the combined group and the muscle strength group were significantly higher than that before the intervention(P<0.05).And the Y balance comprehensive score of the stretching group was not significantly different from that before the intervention(P>0.05).(5)TMG indicators of the lateral vastus muscle:(1)Dm(the maximum radial displacement): After 6 weeks of intervention, there was no significant difference among the three groups(P > 0.05);Compared with pre-intervention,the combined group and the muscle strength group were significantly increased(P < 0.01),and the stretching group was increased(P < 0.05).(2)Tc(contraction time): There were substantial differences among the three groups after 6 weeks of intervention(P < 0.05),the combined group and the muscle strength group were significantly different from the stretching group(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the combined group and the muscle strength group(P > 0.05).Compared with pre-intervention,the muscle strength group was significantly decreased(P < 0.01),the combined group was decreased(P < 0.05),however,no significant difference was found in the stretching group(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)The stretching of the iliotibial band can improve the degree of pain and dysfunction in ITBS patients, but the effect is not as good as the gluteal muscle strength training and gluteal muscle strength training combined with taping.(2)Gluteal muscle strength training and gluteal muscle strength training combined with taping can significantly improve the pain degree and dysfunction of ITBS patients, and can significantly improve the muscle strength, muscle endurance and lower limb stability of hip abductor group in ITBS patients, alleviate the fatigue degree of the lateral vastus muscle;(3)The improvement range of gluteal muscle strength training combined with taping on pain and lower limb stability was greater than that of simple gluteal muscle strength training.
