A large number of studies show that adolescent problem behavior is closely related to many factors. As a risk factor in the family environment, parental intimate partner violence exposure has a positive and direct predictive effect on the problem behavior of children and adolescents. In terms of individual internal factors, core self-evaluation,as the basic evaluation of individual self possession, can significantly negatively predict children’s and adolescents’ problem behavior, and plays an intermediary role in the relationship between parent conflict and middle school students’ problem behavior.According to the theory of psychological resilience, for individuals in adverse environment, positive adversity belief can play a protective role and enhance individual psychological resilience to deal with the adverse effects of adversity. Some studies have found that adversity belief,as an individual’s cognitive strategy for adverse environment or stressor, can significantly positively predict children’s and adolescents’ Mental Health(survival well-being,life satisfaction,self-esteem)and school adaptability, and negatively predict problem behaviors(drug abuse and crime). In short, this study not only verifies the positive predictive effect of parental intimate partner violence exposure on junior middle school students’ problem behavior, but also examines the mediating effect of junior middle school students’ core self-evaluation between the two,and tests the moderating effect of adversity belief on the mediating effect. In this study,1469 junior middle school students were selected as subjects. The Chinese Revised Conflict Strategy Scale(Zhang Ting,2020,CTS2),Achenbach’s adolescent self-assessment scale(YSR),core self-assessment scale(DU Jian Zheng,2012,CSES)and Chinese adversity Belief Scale(Shek,2003,CBA)were used to conduct a questionnaire survey. The conclusions are as follows:(1)The total incidence of parental intimate partner violence exposure(n = 422)among junior middle school students was 28.73%,of which 52.13% of junior middle school students suffered from two-way and mutual parental intimate partner violence exposure.(2)There are significant differences in psychological attack between father led and mother led.Father led psychological attack is higher than mother led psychological attack(3)There are differences in the exposure of parents’ intimate partner violence in grade and family atmosphere, but there is no difference in gender.Specifically,Compared with grade 7 students,Grade 8 students have higher exposure to parental intimate partner violence; The violence exposure of parents and intimate partners in families with frequent quarrels was significantly higher than that in families with occasional quarrels and harmony and peace.(4)Problem behavior shows significant differences in gender and family atmosphere, but there is no difference in grade.Specifically, girls’ scores on depression, withdrawal, internalization and problem behavior were significantly higher than boys, and boys’ scores on discipline violation and externalization were significantly higher than girls; The problem behavior of junior middle school students in families with frequent quarrels is significantly higher than that in families with occasional quarrels and harmony and peace.(5)The scores of internalization problems, externalization problems and problem behaviors of junior middle school students exposed to parental intimate partner violence were higher than those not exposed to parental intimate partner violence.(6)Parental intimate partner violence exposure can directly and positively predict problem behavior, and also indirectly predict Problem behavior through core self-evaluation.Core self-evaluation plays an important mediating role in the process of parental intimate partner violence exposure affecting junior middle school students’ problem behavior.(7)Adversity belief significantly regulates the second half path of the mediation model(core self-evaluation → problem behavior).According to the above conclusions,in the process of practice, parents should reduce mutual violent conflicts and create a harmonious and peaceful family atmosphere. At the same time, school teachers should improve the core self-evaluation of junior middle school students in the curriculum and guide junior middle school students to have a positive understanding of the adverse environment or stressors, which have important theoretical value for the prevention and intervention of junior middle school students’ problem behaviors Value and practical significance.
