| Intimate partner violence is a worldwide social problem, but it also exists for a long time in our society.Previous studies have focused on the immediate victims of intimate partner violence(the partners themselves),ignoring studies of adolescents who are exposed to violence. However, research has shown that children are not just "silent witnesses" to intimate partner violence, they are also victims of violence and violent circumstances.Adolescent adolescents are at a critical time of physical and mental development and are vulnerable to parental intimate partner violence, and whether this effect is long-term or short-term remains controversial. Therefore, this study focuses on the longitudinal relationship between parental intimate partner violence exposure and children’s problem behaviors, and studies the development trend and co-variation of the two,in order to further clarify the influence mechanism of parental intimate partner violence exposure on high school students’ problem behaviors.High school period is an important transition stage for teenagers from children to adults, and the problem behaviors of high school students are closely related to their own development.A large number of studies have shown that parental intimate partner violence is a risk predictor of adolescents’ internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors, and there is a significant correlation between exposure to violence and adolescents’ internal and external symptoms.According to the cognitive-motivation model, individuals’ motivations are related to their past experiences and influence their future development. Therefore, future orientation as a motivational factor may play a bridge role between intimate partner violence exposure and problem behavior.Previous studies have confirmed that future orientation can be influenced by family environment such as parental violence on the one hand, and on the other hand,it can play a role in adolescents’ internalizing and externalizing problem behaviors, but there is no systematic study on the relationship between the three. Also parents and our country at present about the connection between exposure to intimate partner violence and adolescent problem behavior research is still in its infancy compared with abroad, for both the longitudinal relations and internal mechanism study is less,so this study will be the future orientation as a intervening variable,in order to realize the intimate partner violence problem behavior in relation to the exposure of longitudinal study of a new breakthrough. For the above reasons, this study is rooted in social needs, based on China’s national conditions, and by means of a questionnaire survey, more than 1,000 high school students in Sichuan Province were selected by cluster sampling, the Chinese version of conflict strategy inventory, adolescent self-rating scale and future orientation questionnaire were used to conduct a one-year three-time follow-up study on parental intimate partner violence exposure, problem behaviors and future orientation of high school students.Based on the perspective of adolescents, this study systematically explores the effects of parental intimate partner violence on high school students’ problem behaviors.Study 1: To explore the longitudinal relationship between parental intimate partner violence and high school students’ problem behaviors, and to investigate the differences and changing trends of problem behaviors among high school students exposed to parental intimate partner violence, and the covariation between the two.Study 2: To analyze the long-term effects and underlying mechanisms of parental intimate partner violence exposure on high school students’ problem behaviors. One is to study the predictive effect of parental intimate partner violence exposure on high school students’ problem behaviors one year later, the second is to examine the mediating role of future orientation,an individual motivation variable,in the longitudinal path of parental intimate partner exposure and high school students’ problem behaviors.According to the tracking data of this study,SPSS21.0 and MPLUS7.0 were used for statistical analysis, the results were tested by correlation analysis, variance analysis,cross-lag regression analysis, simple intermediate model, latent variable growth model and time-variant covariant model.Through the above studies, the following results are obtained:(1)Parental intimate partner violence exposure is significantly positively correlated with problem behaviors of senior high school students;future orientation was negatively correlated with intimate partner violence exposure and problem behavior.(2)There are significant individual differences in the level and development speed of problem behaviors among senior high school students;with the increase of time, the problem behavior showed a significant decreasing trend, and the decreasing speed gradually accelerated.(3)There is a covariant relationship between intimate partner violence exposure and problem behaviors, and low parental intimate partner violence exposure has a significant promoting effect on the reduction of problem behaviors in senior middle school students at the same time.(4)The time main effect of intimate partner violence exposure and problem behavior is significant, and the gender main effect of problem behavior is significant. The interaction between time and gender of the two variables is not significant.(5)Parental intimate partner violence exposure can significantly predict the level of problem behavior of high school students in the next year, while the problem behavior of high school students cannot predict parental intimate partner violence exposure.(6)The future orientation of high school students played a complete mediating role in the path of parental intimate partner violence exposure to problem behaviors, and parental intimate partner violence exposure could indirectly influence the problem behaviors of high school students in the following year through the mediating role of future orientation. To sum up,this study deeply explores the development trend and internal mechanism of the influence of parental intimate partner violence exposure on problem behaviors of high school students, and specifically focuses on the problem behaviors of adolescents, especially high school students exposed to parental intimate partner violence. It provides new ideas and directions for researchers and educational administration departments to study the problem behaviors of senior high school students and to reduce the incidence of problem behaviors of adolescents. The whole society’s care and support for young people is long-term and runs through the whole process of their development. The conclusion of the study can not only help parents with similar behaviors realize that violent behaviors between each other will lead to adverse reactions of their children,or even directly lead to the occurrence of adolescent problem behaviors, but also call on parents to set an example. It also emphasizes the importance of strengthening the psychological construction of adolescents themselves, such as the positive role of future orientation, exerting the endogenous power of individual positivity, and taking targeted preventive and intervention measures. Moreover, social support from other sources, such as teachers and peers, publicity by the news media and supervision by social groups, should be strengthened to better guide the practical work in the field of youth education and protection.Provide a better social environment for the growth of high school students, protect the legitimate rights and interests of teenagers, safeguard their physical and mental health, and promote the healthy development of teenagers. |
