| The capacity to be alone is an important sign of an individual’s emotional maturity.Studies have confirmed that the ability to be alone has a positive predictive effect on the physical and mental health of junior high school students.The higher the level of emotional maturity,the better the individual’s ability to be alone.Differentiation of self is synonymous with emotional maturity,and specifically refers to the individual’s ability to distinguish between thinking and emotion.The individual’s ability to be alone may be related to differentiation of self.Differentiation of self may also have a predictive effect on the ability to be alone through the attachment relationship.Therefore,in this influencing process,the attachment relationship is added to explore whether the attachment relationship has a mediating effect between differentiation of self and the ability to be alone.This study adopted a stratified random sampling method and selected 757 junior high school students as samples,and used the capacity to be alone scale,Differentiation of Self Inventory –Chinese Revised Edition and Experience in Close Relationships–Revised Scale to measure their ability to be alone,the level of differentiation of self and attachment relationship,on the basis of investigating the relationship among junior high school students’ solitary ability,self-differentiation and attachment relationship,explore the mediating role of attachment relationship between self-differentiation and solitude ability.The results of the study are as follows:(1)The grade difference in the development of solitary ability of junior high school students is significant,while the gender difference and urban-rural difference are not significant;The grade difference,gender difference,and area difference in the development of differentiation of self of junior high school students are significant;There are significant differences in grade and gender in the development of the two attachment relationships of junior high school students,but the differences between urban and rural areas are not significant.(2)The self-differentiation of junior high school students is not significantly correlated with the ability to be alone as a whole,but is significantly negatively correlated with solitary coping,and significantly positively correlated with solitude comfort;attachment avoidance is significantly positively correlated with solitary coping and solitude comfort,and attachment anxiety is both correlated with solitary coping and comfort Significantly negative correlation;self-differentiation is significantly negatively correlated with attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety.(3)Attachment avoidance of junior high school student students has a partial mediating effect between self-differentiation and solitary coping,between self-differentiation and solitary comfort;Attachment anxiety both has a partial mediating effect self-differentiation and solitary coping,and between self-differentiation and solitude comfort.Based on the results,the following educational suggestions are made:(1)Optimize the mental health files of junior high school students,and incorporate differentiation of self,attachment relationships and the capacity to be alone into the evaluation index system of junior high school students’ mental health.(2)In the mental health education curriculum for junior high school students,the subject of "The capacity to be alone" is added to cultivate the capacity to be alone from the perspective of differentiation of self.(3)Optimize the intimate relationship between family members and enhance the attachment security of junior high school students. |
