| In the context of China’s economic transformation,the pace of social life of modern people is gradually accelerating,which brings with it individual mental health problems."depression","anxiety" and the popularity of the collapse of "adults" and other topics,means that individuals have greater probability in stress,anxiety,depression,and a series of negative psychological state,also reflects the current our country side solidifying,there exists a social class education intergenerational mobility,psychological subhealth,and many other problems.Therefore,mental health has increasingly become one of the important issues affecting the social and economic development of our country.Based on status acquisition theory,stress process theory,budget constraint theory and human capital theory,this study focuses on the influence of inter-generational educational transmission relationship on children’s mental health,and adds channel variables to explore the mechanism of intergenerational educational mobility on children’s mental health under the influence of different factors.Based on the data of 2017 China General Social Survey(CGSS),this paper establishes a table of intergenerational mobility in education and makes a cross analysis with children’s mental health to examine the current situation of intergenerational mobility in education and children’s mental health in China.Through baseline regression analysis and mediating effect analysis,this paper explores the influence and mechanism of educational intergenerational mobility on children’s mental health in China.It is found that the intergenerational mobility of education has a significant positive impact on children’s mental health,and the specific way is the upward mobility of education,and there are age,gender,urban and rural and regional heterogeneity.Intergenerational mobility of education affects children’s mental health through three channels: increasing income level,improving happiness and improving physical health,respectively explaining 12%,16%and 8% of the comprehensive effect of intergenerational mobility of education on children’s mental health,and the above three channel variables can jointly explain 36%.Among them,the subjective criterion of happiness has the strongest effect.The robustness test was carried out by reconstructing the measurement index,changing the measurement method,and excluding the samples over 30 years old for reestimation.On this basis,the mediating effect model was further established.The results showed that income level,happiness and physical health had a partial mediating effect on the impact of intergenerational education mobility on children’s mental health,and the results were still significant after the robustness test.Therefore,according to the results of the feasibility of policy recommendations: introducing mental health education curriculum,to build up good psychological quality for adolescents;To build a fairer education system and optimize the allocation of education resources;Accurate investment and appropriate resource tilting policy to break institutional barriers;Improve the social mental health service system to protect people’s livelihood;Popularize mental health knowledge and improve the health literacy level of the people. |
