| Interpersonal adaptability refers to the ability of individuals to develop good interactions and establish harmonious relations with surrounding groups. As an important social adaptability, poor and damaged interpersonal adaptability will often bring serious consequences to individuals or society. When confronted with the challenge of uncertainty, the interpersonal adaptation performance of individuals is significantly different.Different individuals have different emotional attitudes and behavioral reactions to uncertain events or situations, showing different degrees of tolerance and acceptance. Some individuals are prone to anxiety and stress and often try to avoid or prevent it,while others respond positively and adapt well. When an individual is in the trouble of uncertainty,it will often lead to the extreme distribution tendency of the individual’s emotions and behaviors, resulting in emotional adjustment difficulties or maladjustment, among which interpersonal maladjustment is one of the most common psychological problems. In this study, empirical investigation is adopted to explore the influence of uncertainty tolerance on interpersonal adaptability of individuals when they encounter "uncertaint" events or information, and to examine mechanism of this impact from three dimensions of interpersonal adaptability(cooperation, trust and altruism)through experimental methods. This study includes two parts. The first part is a questionnaire survey, mainly using the short version of the unbearable uncertainty scale and college students interpersonal adaptability scale to survey 956 college students,in order to investigate the college students’ uncertainty tolerance level and interpersonal adaptability characteristics and relationships.Part two is an experimental study, which mainly uses three sub-experiments to explore how the interpersonal adaptability of individuals with different characteristics of uncertainty tolerance degree is affected by the uncertainty state. The results showed as follows:(1)The uncertainty tolerance of college students has a significant positive correlation with their interpersonal adaptability. The dimension of uncertainty tolerance anxiety anxiety can negatively predict the level of interpersonal adaptability, and the degree of uncertainty tolerance can positively predict the level of interpersonal adaptability.(2)In the first experiment, the participants in the high uncertainty tolerance group have more cooperative behaviors than the low uncertainty tolerance group;the high and low uncertainty tolerance groups are in the no reward and punishment phase The difference in performance is significant, the amount invested by the participants in the public account during the reward and punishment prompt stage is significantly higher than that of the non-reward and punishment prompt stage, that is,the cooperative behavior is more;in the non-reward and punishment stage, the two groups of subjects are in the situation of uncertain information The amount invested in the public account is more than in the scenario where the information is determined, and it is more willing to choose to cooperate with others.(3)In the second experiment,in the low uncertainty and high uncertainty scenarios of the trust game experiment, the participants in the high and low uncertainty tolerance groups face three different agents(acquaintances, strangers, acquaintances when uncertain)Or a stranger),subjects in the high uncertainty tolerance group are more willing to trust others than subjects in the low uncertainty tolerance group;subjects in the high and low uncertainty tolerance group are in low uncertainty scenarios Next, choose an investment strategy and more investment amount, and it is easier for the subjects to trust others;the two groups of subjects give the most trust value when facing acquaintances, followed by uncertain agent identity, and finally strangers.(4)In the third experiment,in the dictator game, there were more altruistic behaviors in the high uncertainty tolerance group than in the low uncertainty tolerance group;there was no significant difference in the altruistic behavior between the two groups of subjects in the information determination and information uncertainty scenarios. The findings show that, individuals with high uncertainty tolerance have better performance in music group, cooperation, trust and altruism than individuals with low uncertainty tolerance, and their interpersonal adaptability is better. This shows that the tolerance of trait uncertainty has a direct impact on the interpersonal adaptability of college students. This influence is stable and not regulated by factors such as experimental paradigm and investment objects. At the same time, the interpersonal adaptability of college students is affected by the uncertainty of the state, but this effect is not stable, and it is easily adjusted by factors such as whether the information is determined or not and the degree of uncertainty.Interpersonal adaptability under information uncertainty scenarios is better;compared with high uncertainty, subjects perform better under low uncertainty. |
