The use of manipulatives to help students learn is recognized by most educators.However,existing research also points out that the effectiveness of manipulatives in the use process is affected by many factors,such as the richness of object perception,students’ comprehension ability,and teachers’ understanding of manipulatives.These possible influencing factors must be considered for the effective use of manipulatives in teaching.Based on this,this paper starts from the investigation of the actual status of manipulatives finds problems,watches and analyzes excellent teaching cases,and finally puts forward suggestions for the application of manipulatives in primary school mathematics classroom teaching.The paper firstly clarifies the current research status of manipulatives and the necessity and value of this research;secondly,through text analysis,interviews and classroom observations,the use of manipulatives is investigated from three aspects:textbooks,teachers,and classroom teaching.Then,on the basis of classroom observation,the thesis integrates the actual situation of the use of manipulatives and related research results,and proposes a case analysis framework for manipulatives;using this framework,6 classroom teaching cases with 3 different topics are selected.,made a comparative analysis from the four aspects of teaching goal setting,material selection,material use,and effect evaluation,and obtained teaching experience of using manipulatives.Its use is the goal,and based on the existing research results,optimization suggestions for manipulatives are put forward from three aspects: material selection,use,and feedback.Based on the investigation of the use of manipulatives in teaching,the paper finds that there are still some common problems in classroom teaching: the selection of manipulatives is too life-like,emphasis on fun,and the use of manipulatives in the process of use The form of use is greater than the meaning,the breadth of students’ participation is not high,and the feedback after use ignores students’ language and teachers’ teaching reflection.Based on the solution to the problem,this paper proposes the application strategy of manipulatives in primary school mathematics classrooms.In terms of material selection,the selection of materials should be based not only on the nature and source of the materials,but also on the teaching objectives and content;in terms of use: to Carefully design the use process,accurately grasp the timing of use,properly select the method of use,and effectively control the use time;in terms of feedback: pay attention to the value of language,insist on multiple evaluations,and emphasize comprehensive reflection.
