| After China’s economy entered the "new normal",the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure became one of the main tasks of China’s economic development.Human capital,as the primary productive force to promote economic development,is an important factor to realize the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.According to the new economic geography theory, the continuous economic growth of a region will bring about the obvious agglomeration of production factors such as human capital, which will lead to the spatial spillover effect. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the influence of human capital agglomeration on industrial structure upgrading from a spatial perspective. This paper firstly sorts out the related researches on human capital agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading and reviews relevant theories and literatures.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2006 to 2017,this paper introduces the current situation of human capital and industrial structure in China, and then constructs a model and tests the spatial correlation between human capital agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading. The results of the global Moran index show that there is a significant spatial correlation between human capital agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading. From the local spatial correlation,it can be seen that there are also high-high,high-low,low-low,low-high phenomena in human capital agglomeration and industrial structure upgrading among provinces in China.According to the empirical results of the spatial Dubin model,China’s industrial structure upgrading has a significant positive spatial correlation, while the industrial structure upgrading has a significant positive spillover effect. The industrial structure upgrading in adjacent regions will significantly promote the local industrial structure upgrading. At the same time, human capital agglomeration significantly promotes the upgrading of local industrial structure. The higher the degree of human capital agglomeration, the faster the upgrading of regional industrial structure. However, the agglomeration of human capital in adjacent areas will significantly inhibit the upgrading of local industrial structure, which is manifested as negative spatial spillover effect. From the regression results of various control variables, government fixed assets investment and fiscal expenditure have played a significant role in promoting the upgrading of industrial structure.Birth rate also significantly promoted the increase of industrial structure upgrade coefficient. It can be seen from the regional regression results that the influence of human capital agglomeration on industrial structure upgrading is significant in the eastern and central regions, and the spatial auto regressive coefficient of industrial structure upgrading is also significant in the eastern and central regions.Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward relevant Suggestions from the following four aspects: First, improve the guarantee system to attract the flow of talents;Second, constantly increase investment in education and optimize the stock of human capital;Third, reasonable allocation of human capital, improve the efficiency of human capital gathering; In addition,it is necessary to strengthen regional industrial cooperation,so as to bring into play the spillover effect between industries. |
