Research purpose: The purpose of this study is to prove the effect of whole body cryotherapy on the functional recovery of sailor during winter training.This can clarify whether the whole body cryotherapy can promote athletes’ physical recovery,improve immunity,and maintain body balance.on the other hand,it also provides more theoretical support for the application and promotion of this emerging physical recovery method in sports practice.Research method: We selected 14 excellent sailor as experimental subjects,and divided them into two groups at random: group one and group two.In a cross-over experimental design,the first group was treated with whole body cryotherapy in the first stage and then controlled;the second group was firstly controlled and then treated with whole body cryotherapy.In the experiment,the mid-term of the winter training period was selected as the experimental stage.The training content of the athletes is carried out as usual.All people in the two groups received whole body cryotherapy after training every afternoon.At the same time,they performed daily recovery after daily training in the control group.The experiment lasted 9 weeks.The training content should be consistent with the previous period.The middle week was the washout period of the cross-experiment.The experiment compared the changes of blood routine indexes,immune system indexes,endocrine and hormone-related indexes,training load and muscle damage indexes,deep sleep self-feeling scores,etc.Research results:(1)After the cross-experiment intervention,the hemoglobin and erythrocyte indicators of the athletes’ blood routine indicators increased relative to the baseline.The influence of the whole body cryotherapy group was greater than that of the control group,but there was no significant difference(p>0.05).(2)Among the indexes of training load and muscle damage,the levels of creatine kinase,lactate dehydrogenase and blood urea nitrogen in the ultra-low temperature group were significantly lower than those in the control group(p<0.05).(3)In the endocrine and muscular system indicators,the testosterone(T)level and T/C content of the ultra-low temperature group were significantly increased compared to the control group(p<0.05),and the cortisol(C)level was significantly reduced(p<0.05);(4)Among the immune system indicators,the intermediate cell,neutrophil and leukocyte counts in the ultra-low temperature group were significantly higher than those in the control group(p<0.05),and there was no significant change in the lymphocytes of the two groups;(5)the sleep quality score in the whole body cryotherapy group was significantly higher than that in the Control group.Analysis conclusion:(1)The whole body cryotherapy has no obvious effect on the level of red blood cells and hemoglobin of athletes.(2)whole body cryotherapy can increase the leukocyte count and increase the activity of some intermediate cells and neutrophils.According to experimental results,whole body cryotherapy is beneficial to improve the immune imbalance of athletes and improve the body’s immune function.(3)The whole body cryotherapy has a positive effect on the changes of athletes’ endocrine indicators,which can increase the testosterone value(T),reduce the cortisol(C),and then increase the T/C ratio.It shows that it is beneficial to the improvement of the body’s anabolism,reducing the catabolism,promoting the body’s protein synthesis and enhancing the ability to eliminate fatigue.(4)The whole body cryotherapy can significantly reduce the content of serum creatine kinase,lactate dehydrogenase and blood urea in muscle damage.It is beneficial to recovery of the athlete’s body.(5)The whole body cryotherapy can effectively improve the sleep quality of athletes,reduce the insomnia caused by a large number of high-intensity exercises,and promote better recovery of the body.
