With the development of the eras,the social status and role of female have been increasingly promoted.It is commonplace for females acting as leaders in political circles,business circles and other sectors,which has made tremendous contributions to China’s political and economic construction.There is still gender inequality in society today,however,which is influenced by the Chinese traditional culture.At present,the research on female leadership is in the development stage in domestic,and there are only a handful of studies on the leadership of female teachers in universities.This study focuses on universities to explore elements of the leadership of female teachers in universities and its influencing factors.After drawing conclusions,relevant measures for improving the leadership of female teachers in universities will be made suggestions with social support theory so that provide a reference and base on development for the female teachers themselves,universities and the society.At the same time,it not only helps to enrich and improve the theory of leadership development of female teachers in universities,but also contributes to the expansion of the theoretical basis of university management.This dissertation uses the literature method,interview method and multidisciplinary research method to carry out the subject.It contains a total of six parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and significance of this topic.The second part is a literature review about the concepts,theories,and research status of the subject.The third part presents the research method,including sample source,data collection procedures and analysis steps.The fourth part analyzes the interview information focusing on the female teachers of S University and concludes the elements of the leadership of female teachers in universities and its influencing factors based on the literature review and the data analysis of the respondents.The fifth part gives some specific suggestions for the improvement of female teachers’ leadership in universities combining the characteristics and reality of female teachers in S University.The sixth part summarizes the research of this paper,reflects the limitations and puts forward research prospects.The research finds that the fact there is inequity between male and female teachers and the status quo of female teachers’ leadership is not optimistic in universities.It will need to take a long time and some measures are gradually enhanced for promoting the leadership of female teachers in university at the perspective of social support.The author believes that we should start from the three aspects of social support subject,social support object and social support mediator to solve restrictions encountered in the process of female teachers’ leadership improvement from the macro,mid and micro level.It can be maximized for the promotion of the leadership of female teachers in universities by working together.
