Major breakthroughs have been made in the subject of adult education in China,since the reform and opening up.After the 19 th National Congress of the CPC,China has entered a new normal in the work of building socialism.Vigorously developing adult education and building a learning society are important measures and inevitable requirements for the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.The realization of these measures requires the support of adult education disciplines.However,the development of adult education disciplines in China is facing many difficulties at present.This study uses literature analysis and logical thinking analysis methods to give a new understanding and elaboration of the concept,connotation and the formation and composition of the discipline framework,and uses the discipline framework to understand the current development status of adult education in China.Reorganize the development history of adult education disciplines,find out and describe the development dilemma of adult education disciplines,analyze the causes of the dilemmas,and propose strategies for perfecting adult education disciplines in China.This research mainly includes the following five aspects.First,sort out the research results related to disciplines at home and abroad,and explore the connotation and framework of the discipline while understanding the connotation of the discipline in many aspects.Disciplinary framework is the skeleton of disciplines and the guiding principle for discipline construction.This research re-examines the disciplinary framework from the generation and flow of theoretical knowledge,and divides the disciplinary framework into internal and external organizational systems.The internal organization includes the part of knowledge generation-"research object" and "research method" and the part of knowledge arrangement-"discipline logic" and "theoretical system".The external organization includes knowledge dissemination and value rebirth parts-"research community","achievement works" and "university professional education".And according to the different starting points of the spiral of the discipline framework,the disciplines are divided into traditional disciplines and modern disciplines,and different types of disciplines correspond to different construction methods.The different subject frameworks require us to rethink the current situation of adult education subjects.Second,to sort out the development history of Chinese adult education disciplines after the reform and opening up,and divide it into the pre-adult education period(1978-1991);the establishment period of adult education disciplines(1992-2001);the development period of adult education disciplines(2002-2010);Four stages of adult education discipline transformation period(2011-2020),and expounded from the perspectives of research institution system,degree-granting point construction,journal work research results,discipline theory system,and relationship with other disciplines,etc.Achievements in the development of adult education disciplines in China.Third,analyze the development dilemma of adult education discipline from the perspective of discipline framework.In accordance with the new requirements of adult education in the new era,the internal and external organizational systems of adult education disciplines need to be reformed and improved.From the perspective of the internal organization of the adult education discipline,the research objects need to be clear,the research method is not compatible,the logical starting point needs to be clear,and the theoretical system needs to be integrated;from the perspective of the external organization of the adult education discipline,the academic community needs to be interconnected and developed,University professional education needs to be expanded.Fourth,to reflect on the attribution of the development of adult education disciplines:From the internal analysis of the disciplines,on the one hand,the current construction of adult education disciplines in China is limited to the traditional discipline construction method,on the other hand,the academic community lacks inquiries about the research standards of adult education disciplines.And reflection;from the analysis of social factors outside the subject,there are two reasons for the new demands of the age put forward by the social development of the adult education discipline,and the obvious marginal status of the adult education discipline.Fifth,based on the results of the attribution analysis of the subject framework,six strategies for improving the subject of adult education in China are proposed: one is to use the "adult education phenomenon" as the research object;the other is to choose a "diversified and matched" research method;It is based on "adult learning needs" as the logical starting point;the fourth is to improve the theoretical system of adult education disciplines;the fifth is to integrate and develop academic communities and research institutions;the sixth is to set up general undergraduate adult education majors.
