A Study On The Value Of Discipline And Guidance Of Elementary School Motto In Z Province

The school motto is the precepts of a school,the action guide of all the teachers and students,the concentrated embodiment and high summary of the school philosophy,which always highlights the value of education.After consulting relevant literature and carrying on the preliminary study,it is not difficult to find that school motto implies the implication of discipline and guidance.The value of discipline and guidance implied in the school motto is bound to have an important impact,but it is ignored.It is just regarded as the slogan or decoration,making it a spare resources in the campus.It is urgent to analyze it,which not only helps to further clarify the value of its discipline and guidance,but also helps to put forward operational opinions for the play of its discipline and guidance value.Firstly,the literature method is used to collect relevant contents such as the semantics,source,essence and function of the school motto,and then the collected literature is sorted out and summarized to confirm the connotation of discipline and guidance from the aspects of the semantics,source and essence of the school motto.Secondly,the thesis tries to analyze the value of discipline and guidance implied by the school motto,which is mainly reflected in the following three aspects: Code of conduct,Moral trait,School administration and running.Thirdly,taking the collected school motto of 147 primary schools in Z province as the research object,using the word frequency statistics method and content analysis method to properly analyze the discipline and guidance content implied in the school motto of primary schools in Z Province,and summarizes the characteristics of the discipline and guidance value implied in the school motto of primary schools in Z Province.Among the three dimensions of school motto in Z province,more emphasis is placed on the School administration and School running,then followed by moral trait and code of conduct.The three categories of study,truth-seeking and goodness are particularly emphasized.It can be seen that the school motto of Z Province emphasizes on seeking truth from facts and being practical;seeking goodness from morality and being kind to others;Pursuing knowledge and promoting growth through learning;Respect self-improvement and highlight innovation.Finally,in order to give full play to the discipline and leading value of the school motto,three measures need to be done.The measures can be depicted as follows.First,Create an atmosphere for teachers and students to recognize the value of discipline and guidance of the school motto;Second,strengthen education so as to let teachers and students internalize the value of discipline and guidance of school motto;Lastly,let teachers and students practice the value externally.
