MOBA E-sports events have a wide audience base in China.With the continuous improvement of the event system in recent years,as well as China’s claim of world championships,the popularity continues to soar.As the disseminator of the sound symbol of the event commentary,the commentators of MOBA events have been paid increasingly more attention.Because of the development of the event,the number and scale of the commentators are gradually growing,and its influence on the development of the e-sports industry can not be underestimated.E-sports is different from traditional sports,therefore,the commentary of E-sports events will definitely have a lot of new characteristics,new problems different from the traditional ones,which are worthy of our thinking and research.Using the methods of data collection,text analysis,participation observation,case analysis,and with the help of the mature theory of traditional sports commentary,taking League of Heroes as a case,this paper studies and analyzes the commentary activities of China’s MOBA E-sports events.Research finds that with the development of the event,MOBA E-sports event commentary can be divided into the TGA period(2011-2013),the LSPL period(2014-2017)and the Alliance period(Since 2018).In the analysis of the group profile of the commentators,it is found that: the commentator is mainly male,the female is the important component;the interpretation team is composed of young people;the education background is mainly undergraduate,most of them have no professional broadcasting skills;the commentators generally have high game level;high turnover rate of commentators.And finds that the characteristics of the commentary of MOBA E-sports events are as follows: the speed of commentary is fast and the rhythm is compact;most commentary is internet slang;the results show that the elite position is obvious;the discourse semantic dominance is large;the choice of commentary target is strong.Through the relevant analysis of the article,it is found that there are some shortcomings in the commentary of MOBA E-sports events: the level of oral language expression is insufficient;the phenomenon of anomie of commentary language occurs from time to time;some commentators lack the ability to interpret the event;the degree of coordination of commentary needs to be improved;biases of commentary are frequently disputed.Finally,according to the problems,the paper puts forward some suggestions to the commentators: strengthen the oral language expression training;establish correct guiding consciousness;continuously improve the understanding level of the game;enhance the service awareness in the division of commentary;adhere to the principle of consistency.Meanwhile,it also puts forward some suggestions for the organizers:strengthening professional quality training;improving the relevant norms of commentary behavior;build a stable commentary team;improving the data analysis mechanism in the competition.
