With the change of educational philosophy and the innovation of teaching methods,we are constantly optimizing the basketball teaching process.According to the training plan,the employment of PE students in the Faculty of Physical Education is mainly directed towards the field of education.Most of them teach in primary and secondary schools,which is bound to play a vital role in the basketball enlightenment education of primary and secondary school students.Optimizing the teaching effect of basketball class for students majoring in physical education is conducive to promoting the development of basketball in China.The educational philosophy of the learning-oriented teaching method is based on students’ self-learning,which is supplemented by the teacher’s guidance,and the basic structure of classroom teaching in this method is self-learning,question solving,intensive teaching and practice.The author believes that ’Methods of Learning and Teaching’ can be applied to the basketball courses of physical education students in the Faculty of Physical Education to improve the progress,understanding and standardisation of students’ basketball skills.The experimental and control groups in this teaching experiment were randomly selected from the class 8 and class 15 students of the grade of 2020(freshmen)of Guangzhou Sport University.The experimental group was taught using the study guide method,while the control group was taught using the traditional method.I used literature,questionnaires,mathematical and statistical methods and comparative analysis to compare and analyse the physical qualities,interest in learning basketball,movement skills,cognitive level and independent learning ability of the students in the experimental and control groups and to draw conclusions.(1)It was found that there was no significant difference between guided learning approach and traditional teaching methods in terms of improving fitness,and that students improved to a certain and comparable extent after one semester of learning and practice.(2)The results showed that there was a significant difference between the learning-led and traditional teaching methods in terms of interest in learning basketball,and that the learning-led method was more effective than the traditional method in stimulating students’ interest in learning basketball.(3)There was no significant difference between the guided learning method and the traditional teaching method in terms of the technical achievement of basketball movements.After a semester of practice,students have improved their basketball movement technique attainment to a certain extent,and to a considerable extent.However,there is a significant difference in the improvement of students’ Basketball Technical Movements Evaluation,with the learning-to-teach method being more effective than the traditional method in improving students’ basketball skills and improving the standardisation and spectatorship of students’ basketball moves.(4)It was found that there was a significant difference between guided learning approach and traditional approache to teaching basketball at the cognitive level.After a semester of study and practice,the students’ basketball knowledge has improved to some extent,but the learning and teaching method is more effective than the traditional method.(5)A comparison of the teaching effectiveness of the learning and traditional teaching methods showed a significant difference in terms of their impact on independent learning skills.A learning-led approach is more effective in developing students’ self-learning skills than a traditional approach.
