Empirical Study On Case Work Providing Spiritual Comfort For Rural Empty Nest Elderly

With the continuous improvement of China’s social security policy,the economic life of rural empty nesters has been guaranteed to some extent,but the spiritual comfort of rural elderly has become relatively prominent.In this paper,the action research method is used to explore and refine the experience of casework in providing spiritual comfort for rural empty nesters in the process of providing spiritual comfort services for rural empty nesters.In the whole service for empty nesters,it is found that taking empty nesters as the center is the foundation of our service.This requires that the service activities designed by social workers should meet the needs of the case owners to the greatest extent.In the service process,they should always pay attention to the changes of the case owners and constantly adjust the strategies of social workers.The change of the case owner’s own cognition is an important factor to alleviate the sense of loss,loneliness and boredom of empty nesters.Social workers need to guide the case owner to identify the case owner’s previous wrong cognition,guide the case owner to change his cognition ideologically and teach the case owner certain methods and skills to improve his ability to deal with the wrong cognition.In this process,social workers need to pay special attention to the acceptance ability of the case owner and constantly adjust the methods.In addition,social workers should pay attention to two important factors: family emotional communication and peer group communication.The whole service effect of social workers on empty nesters in rural areas also has certain delay and superposition.
