Abstract/Summary:
Kazuo Mongolian Chess is a ethnic traditional sport which is popular in Kazuo Mongolian Autonomous County,Chaoyang City,Liaoning Province.There were two interruptions in its inheritance in the local area.Kazuo Mongolian chess has not been revived until 2009,thanks to the leadership of Master Wu Xianming,the third generation of inheritor.After more than ten years of protection of the sport,it has now achieved a phased success.Kazuo Mongolian Chess has been listed in the sixth batch of intangible cultural heritage representative projects in Liaoning Province.However,at this time,the protection of the sport has entered a bottleneck period,and it is difficult to continue to make breakthroughs with the current strength.If it is allowed to develop by itself,there will be the risk that it develops to the opposite.Therefore,the protection of Kazuo Mongolian chess is studied in order to promote the development and vitality of the project,and also provide theoretical reference for the protection and development of other kinds of Mongolian chess and other traditional intangible cultural heritage sports in Liaoning Province.In this paper,the protection of Kazuo Mongolian chess is selected as the object.The methods of literature data,case study,in-depth interview,field investigation,root theory and logical analysis are adopted to make a study on the development context,value connotation,protection status and its influencing factors of the Kazuo Mongolian chess.Then according to its current situation and characteristics,the targeted protection strategies are explored.The conclusions are as follows:1.With the ancient war,the Mongolian chess was spread to the Kazuo region.In its later development,the project has not only retained Mongolian characteristics but also integrated the local culture,so that today’s Kazuo Mongolian chess has been formed.As an epitome of the historical changes over thousands of years,both the sets and rules of Kazuo Mongolian chess contain lots of elements of nomadic culture,war culture and Han farming culture,which have important historical and educational value.2.After two interruptions,the development of Kazuo chess has achieved significant phased success since the recovery started from 2009.At present,locally in Kazuo County,there are 20 schools which have set up regular Kazuo Mongolian Chess courses.The learners come from all walks of life in the society,and the range has also expanded to many cities in Liaoning Province.However,at this time,the protection of the sport has entered a bottleneck period.If it is allowed to develop by itself,there will be the risk that it develops to the opposite or the downturn.3.The current results of protection of Kazuo Mongolian chess are affected by many factors,so the overall analysis is conducted.According to their effects,the influencing factors are finally summarized as four kinds: driving factors,supporting factors,adjusting factors and restricting factors.4.According to the characteristics and status of Kazuo Mongolian chess,the protection strategies are: forming a stable protection mechanism between the driving factors to achieve linkage protections by the forces from all aspects;relying on the current supporting factors,which can ensure that the progress of the Kazuo Mongolian chess protection work will be continued,meanwhile we should use this platform to expand the promoted content;optimizing the adjusting factors that are artificially controllable,so that they can play a contributing role in the protection of intangible cultural heritage,in order to increase the activity forms and vitality of the project;striving to solve the restricting factors in the process of project protection,so that the Kazuo Mongolian chess project can have a long-term and sustainable development.
