This study examined the fundamental influence of national training policy on the efficiency in the leadership, administration, and management aspects for the public teachers training college principals in Tanzania.Given the demands of standards-based educational reforms, the aims and goals of each teacher training college leadership were to create effective leadership, administration, management, and high students’ academic achievements.A literature review of the study has shown the significant importance of training policies, formal school leadership orientations,principal-ship professional development frameworks, school management achievements, policy implications to the principal-ship,conceptual and theoretical frameworks, and the knowledge gap from the previous writings.School leadership has currently been the focus of intense examination as many researchers try to examine not only the proper training and professional development of principals but also the impact of the respective leadership for college operationalization on students’ academic achievements. This study is a mixed type in nature that was designed to comprise analytical data collection instruments, open and closed questionnaire together with the semi-structured interview to college principals and vice-principals,college tutors, senior education officers from the MEST,and policymakers as primary sources of the study in the field. The data analysis is a descriptive-based scientific-analytical examination of findings by the use of Python,Stata,Excel, and explanatory techniques on opinions from the respondents. However, the study has adopted Structural Equation Modeling(SEM)to analyze the relationship between training policy and the effectiveness in teachers training college principals regarding college leadership, administration, and management aspects to find out the solutions and propose possible recommendations. The findings confirm that the current centralized system in recruiting college principals, making selection and appointment to the principal position, and inconsistent professional development do not meet the current requirements on the ever-changing needs in the teacher education and teacher training college management condition. The study reveals that establishing school or college leaders’ national training institutions, training centers,or partnerships with universities can maximize efficient administration, leadership, and management as well as eradicate problems to improve the prevailing situation. These higher learning institutions can provide advanced degrees or certification for college principals and school heads as well as organize well-defined and well-structured professional development training programs.Based on the major findings of the study,it is concluded that the government, education entities, colleges and schools should establish a well-structured training policy to tackle the prevailing problems and challenges in teacher training colleges in Tanzania by emphasizing training its leaders to pioneer the change, improvement, and development in administration, leadership, and management. The introduction of a national training policy will influence the governing structured programs for college leaders’ continuous preservice and in-service professional development for college principals.Systematization of the recruitment of college tutors, teachers or any individuals who have a strong interest in making their careers in college principal-ship on explicit criteria will raise the professionalization of principal positions in teacher training colleges in Tanzania.
