| The college stage is a key period for the formation of self-identity,and the development of self-identity of college students is of great significance to the development of their personality.Research on self-identity has two main research orientation: narrative orientation and status orientation,narrative orientation focuses on subjective reconstruction of past events,focus on the process of identity formation,the core of the study is significance to construct,refers to how individuals actively constructing meaning-making,processing events influence on themselves,based on the depth of the meaning-making processing,that is,the complexity of meaning-making,Mc Lean and Pratt proposed significance to construct linear coding system,four levels are no meaning,lesson,vague meaning and insight,the main measurement method is to interview method,including Mc Adams the life story of the interview is the most commonly used;Status orientation focuses on exploration and commitment of individuals to different areas of life,focusing on the results of identity formation.The research focuses on That Marcia divides identity into four statuses according to exploration and commitment,namely,diffusion,foreclosure,moratorium and achievement.The main measurement method is the scale method.The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning-making of college students with different self-identity status by life story interview.In Hebei Normal university choice within this study participants electronic scale to measure their self-identity status,and 20 subjects with different status of self-identity were selected and interviewed.After the interview,the interview materials were transcribed into verbatim scripts,and the verbatim scripts were coded,and a coding manual was made.Coding manual had five themes,respectively is the "individual’s version of events","individual in the event of feelings and emotions","individual attention to the event itself","the impact of the event brings to the individual","event for individual self-awareness",this study these five topics are belongs to the category of meaning-making,and previous studies mostly focus on "the impact of the event brings to the individual" this one theme,by contrast,this study to expand the research category of meaning-making.Finally according to the coding manual to encode their narrative content analysis,get the following conclusion:(1)The complexity of the individual’s meaning-making of the event is independent of the specific event type.(2)The five coding themes all have significant differences in the same status,with foreclosure,moratorium,achievement status individual’s description of the event and the clarity of the event it-self’s attention or thinking significantly higher than that of the diffusion status individual;The clarity and complexity are significantly higher than the clarity and complexity of individuals with foreclosure and diffusion status;The complexity of meaning construction from deep to shallow is the status of achievement,moratorium,foreclosure and diffusion;The self-awareness of individuals from deep to shallow is achievement,foreclosure,moratorium and diffusion status.(3)The meaning-making of "the influence of events on individuals" is the way for individuals to explore self-identity,complex and profound meaning-making is conducive to individual exploration of self-identity,and abstract and out-of-touch meaning-making is not conducive to the formation of commitment.The construction of the meaning of "the self-awareness produced by the individual by the event" is the expression of the individual’s commitment to form,which will guide the individual’s behavior,moderately discard the old self-awareness,and keep the transformation of self-awareness open to the same development. |
